ReedPop and Wizards of the Coast have announced that Dungeons & Dragons will be heading to MCM Comic Con x EGX this October, via a D&D Zone.
It’s in honour of the 50th anniversary of the roleplaying franchise.
To celebrate, attendees can head down to the D&D Zone to take part in a wide array of activities, including:
- Playing in adventures with expert Dungeon Masters using the latest ruleset
- Participating in game demos and Dungeon Master workshops
- Learning about the digital platform D&D Beyond
- Buying new releases
Visitors will be able to find the Dungeons & Dragons Zone in North Hall across all three days, with EGX running from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th October 2024 at ExCeL London.
EGX is taking place alongside MCM Comic Con this year, with MCM x EGX also hosting one of UK’s first major Tekken 8 tournaments.
Jess Lanzillo, VP of Product and Franchise for D&D at Wizards of the Coast, said: “MCM Comic Con x EGX is the natural place for us to celebrate such a major milestone, as we know just how passionate fans of both the show and Dungeons & Dragons are.
“By bringing the Dungeons & Dragons Zone to MCM Comic Con x EGX, we hope to be able to connect with existing fans of the franchise, and introduce new players to the D&D community and all of the amazing experiences it has to offer.”
Fans of Dungeons & Dragons will have other opportunities to celebrate the milestone throughout the long weekend.
- The hit D&D actual-play series Natural Six will return to MCM/EGX with voice actors and a new live adventure on Friday 25th October at 4:30pm
- D&D Live: What We Do in The Shadow-Cursed Lands, is taking place on the Main Stage, Sun 27 Oct at 11:00am
- Start Dungeon Mastering D&D with the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide is being hosted in the Platinum Suite Room 1, Sat 26 Oct at 3:45PM
Other workshops, activities and events will take place across the showfloor, all included with ticket purchases.
The news comes after Royal Mail also celebrated 50 years of Dungeons and Dragons earlier this year, with a set of DnD stamps.
