Gaming hardware brand AGON by AOC has entered into a collaboration to equip the new Sheffield Wednesday Esports Arena.
The brand kicked off the partnership back in August 2023, and now the new facility has opened.
AGON by AOC has supplied the arena with equipment from its AOC Gaming line-up: six 27” Q27G2E/BK monitors with QHD resolution and 16 of the 24” 24G2SPAE/BK battle station models.
The company says these monitors are ‘tailored to meet the demands of esports players, offering the high precision and clarity needed for competitive play’.
The new Sheffield Wednesday Esports Arena at the English football club’s Hillsborough Stadium will host various gaming events, aiming to further bridge football fans and the gaming community.
As Sheffield Wednesday ventures into the esports realm with their team competing in various tournaments, AGON by AOC says it’s proud to be a part of this journey.
Paul Butler, Regional Sales Director for the UK & Ireland at AOC International (Europe), said: “Last August, our partnership with the Sheffield Wednesday Esports Arena came to fruition, with AOC stepping in as the official gaming monitor provider.
“Our contribution of about two dozen AGON by AOC esports monitors will unleash everyone’s gaming potential. For us at AOC this collaboration is a perfect match, blending our passion for gaming with the thrilling world of esports.
“We cannot wait to see the arena buzz with action-packed events and becoming a hotspot for gaming in Sheffield for gaming enthusiasts and footie fans alike. Let the adventure begin!”
Other partners at the Sheffield Wednesday Esports Arena include Noblechairs, HyperX and Esports Furniture.
Sheffield is also of course home to UK esports organisation Endpoint, who opened their Pracrooms.gg space and began hosting LAN events last year.
