Women in Esports, the diversity initiative from national body British Esports, has today announced a new online event called the ‘Be The Change Summit’.
It’s dedicated to equity, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) throughout the industry, and will be delivered as an online webinar on Tuesday November 14th 2023.
It’s set to bring together key stakeholders from esports, education, technology, sports and video games, as well as educators, influencers and more, and aims to go beyond just esports. Organisers say attendees from all sectors are welcome.
The Be The Change Summit will feature panels, keynotes, workshops, networking opportunities and industry success stories.
Esports News UK understands the event has been planned for some time, with the likes of British Esports’ Head of Operations Alice Leaman and British Esports’ Product Development Lead Billie Purdie working on it:

With an inaugural theme of ‘Empowering’, the Be The Change Summit aims to raise awareness about the significance of EDI, and ‘encourages an open dialogue, creating a safe space for participants to express their own perspectives’.
The summit is also designed to help attendees develop skills to boost their EDI practices, inspire others and highlight success stories.
According to the event graphic, the event is supported by Dell Technologies, whose wider partnership with British Esports was announced a few months ago.
The news comes a few weeks after British Esports announced a partnership with the Saudi Esports Federation.

Dom is an award-winning writer and finalist of the Esports Journalist of the Year 2023 award. He graduated from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 degree in Multi-Media Journalism in 2007.
