UK-based esports organisation Excel Esports and sports/fashion retailer JD Sports will be setting off on a tour of the UK in August, bringing clothing and gaming to students in several cities.
The ‘Click Refresh Back To School Tour’ will see a double-decker JD School Bus hit cities across the UK, starting in London’s Westfield Stratford tomorrow and heading across Liverpool One and the Birmingham Bullring.
Students can buy new merch, clothing and shoes, and access a gaming zone at the top floor of the bus, where they can compete on digital leaderboards across games including FIFA 22, Dirt 5 and Rocket League.
Locals will also have the opportunity to meet and game against Excel’s pro gamers and content creators, including FIFA player Spencer ‘Gorilla’ Ealing, content creator Jackson ‘Rezhexx’ Bradbury and TikTok star Ollie Ball.
Artist and designer Mattcustoms will be on hand to put a personal touch to any footwear or bags brought from a JD store that day.
The bus will feature gaming stations built into the top floor, hosted by Excel. Visitors will be able to hang out with Excel’s aforementioned talent roster including Gorilla, Rezhexx and TikToker Ollie Ball, who will be dropping in to chat with visitors, provide tips and tricks and challenge all comers to a game of their choice.
Fans will be able to win back-to-school prizes.
The JD ‘Click Refresh’ Back-to-School Tour will be making the following stops this August:
- Wednesday August 17th: London Westfield Stratford
- Friday August 19th: Birmingham Bullring
- Sunday August 21st: Liverpool One
The first two dates will see activities run from 10am to 6pm, and the Liverpool day will start at 11am and end at 5pm.
There will be more activities on the JD Sport social channels.
The news is the latest activity between Excel Esports and its JD Sports partner. Excel’s League of Legends academy team, JD XL (who have qualified for the Summer 2022 EU Masters), are named after the brand.
Excel officially announced their partnership with JD Sports at the start of this year.
