League Fest: Multiplay ready to rock i58 with huge UK League of Legends event and £15,000 Pro-Am

Multiplay Insomnia58 will feature its first dedicated League of Legends area filling up an entire hall.
Aside from the new GAMEfest expo, usual eSports tournaments and LAN area, i58 will also include a 6,500+ square metre League of Legends community area dubbed League Fest.
The four-day festival of all things League will feature live tournaments with former pro players, exclusive merchandise, cosplay and opportunities to meet and greet special guests.
Each day LCS veterans will team up with up-and-coming European stars in the League Fest Pro-Am. £15,000 is on the line for this tourney, and players like TheOddOne and LemonNation will be competing in a series of showmatches (full roster line-ups are coming soon).
This is on top of the £5,000 LoL eSports tournament taking place at i58 too.
League Fest will also host the biggest League of Legends cosplay competition the UK has seen. Cosplayers will be showing off their costumes on stage and on-strem, and competing for thousands of pounds in prize money.

There’s a selfie booth and an Armoury, where attendees will be able to check out costumes, props and weapons.
Guests include Maplestreet, MagikarpUsedFly, Gbay99, Foxdrop, Gripex, Phylol, RossBoomSocks and Kiandymundi, as well as the aforementioned LemonNation, The Odd One and more.
The event will also include daily tournaments with cash prizes, a viewing party for the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) summer split finals, and a pub quiz on the opening day (Friday August 26th).
The announcement comes after eSports News UK’s exclusive story back in March, reporting that Riot would be increasing its investment in the UK League scene.

“League fans have always been a huge part of Insomnia, from the prize tournament to the evening events. This year we’re raising the bar to stage one of Europe’s largest celebrations of the world’s most played video game.”

Multiplay (owned by retailer GAME) says that League Fest is the biggest League of Legends community event planned in the UK to date.
League Fest and Insomnia58 will take place at the Birmingham NEC from August 26th to 29th.

Tickets for League Fest start from £30 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday, plus weekend tickets are available that provide access to i58. Premium tickets will offer weekend access, premium stage seating and meet & greet access, as well as BYOC premium access and supplement tickets.

Craig Fletcher, CEO and founder of Multiplay, said: “I’m expecting more than 10,000 champions to beat a path to Insomnia this August, swelling our overall attendance to more than 100,000 at the NEC.

“League fans have always been a huge part of Insomnia, from the prize tournament to the evening events. This year we’re raising the bar to stage one of Europe’s largest celebrations of the world’s most played video game.”
