Baus leads Los Ratones’ dramatic comeback for second LEC Versus win

Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont nearly lost his voice as Los Ratones made it two wins in a row in LEC Versus.

Los Ratones emotionally recorded their first-ever LEC win against Team Heretics the day prior.

Then on January 26th, Los Ratones cameback from being over 9k gold down to defeat Shifters to finish Week 2, 2-1.

Los Ratones now sit with a 2-4 record and still have a chance of making the LEC Versus Playoffs.

Shifters dominated the early game as the risky glass-cannon Gragas build from Simon ‘Baus’ Hofverberg struggled against Nidalee.

Support Adrian ‘Trymbi’ Trybus continued to find sneaky Neeko engages by hiding as a minion.

And it looked over for Los Ratones as Ilias ‘nuc’ Bizriken found a triple knock-back as Taliyah.

However, Baus’ Gragas had begun to do damage, and he found a fantatic engage to help Los Ratones defend their base.

Tim ‘Nemesis’ Lipovšek had taken the mid tower and recalled to buy Zhonyas just in time for the defence.

That and the Baus’ engage was enough for Los Ratones to win the fight despite being over 9k gold down at the 27-minute mark.

Baus had been 2k gold down in lane, but he was winning the late-game fights, and that was enough for Los Ratones to win the game.

Baus stayed with Los Ratones for the LEC despite considering quitting due to his streaming commitments.

Now, he can say he has won multiple LEC matches and was even voted MVP in one of them.

Velja reflects on Los Ratones’ LEC wins

Following the win over Shifters, the first words out of Veljko ‘Velja’ Čamdžić’s mouth were: “It feels amazing, I feel relieved right now.”

Speaking about how the team kept its cool, Velja revealed his team remained confident they could win:

“The game was a complete disaster. I was getting bullied in my own jungle, but we just knew we were going to outscale their early game comp.

“And we knew they were going to throw, eventually, if we just had one good teamfight, which we did.”

Daniel Drakos asked the rookie jungler how he has levelled up since joining LEC, and Velja admitted he’s struggled mentally:

“Just working on individual things and not being emotional all the time. The First week, I was a bit shaky with the first games on stage.

“The first week, even though I didn’t want it to be, was really hard mentally. Now, personally, I feel a lot better, and as a team we clicked way more than the previous week.”

Finally asked whether Los Ratones could still make the LEC Versus Playoffs, Velja responded confidently, “Yes.”
