Which teams did not make it out of the Chengdu Group Stage?
In total, ten teams have been eliminated in the IEM Chengdu Group Stage:
- NAVI (eliminated Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, Group A)
- TYLOO (eliminated Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, Group A)
- 3DMAX (eliminated Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, Group B)
- FaZe Clan (eliminated Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, Group B)
- HEROIC (eliminated Lower Bracket Semifinals, Group A)
- paiN Gaming (eliminated Lower Bracket Semifinals, Group A)
- Lynn Vision Gaming (eliminated Lower Bracket Semifinals, Group B)
- Virtus.pro (eliminated Lower Bracket Semifinals, Group B)
- Team Spirit (eliminated Lower Bracket Final, Group A)
- G2 Esports (eliminated Lower Bracket Final, Group B)
Both FaZe and NAVI limped to sorry exists in Chengdu, with their early losses painting an ominous picture of their chances at the upcoming Budapest Major.
G2 also faced an unfortunate exit. Their Captain, Nemanja ‘huNter’ Kovač, was forced to withdraw from their qualification game against Team Vitality for medical reasons. Instead, coach Eetu ‘sAw’ Saha took his place on the roster.
Team Vitality defeated G2 2-0 in the game.
However, Team Spirit’s brutal elimination by The MongolZ in the Group Stage Lower Bracket Final will also be a particularly hard blow for the team.

Team Spirit’s IEM Cologne 2025 win appears quite some distance behind them. Despite clawing back an overtime Map 2 win on Ancient, they couldn’t raise the same consistency the roster used to display.
On the other hand, The MongolZ has impressed fans with their status as one of the IEM Chengdu Playoffs teams.
The team’s star player, Azbayar ‘Senzu’ Munkhbold, was benched ahead of the tournament. Instead, Unudelger ‘Controlez’ Baasanjargal would take his place. Although some doubted The MongolZ roster’s ability to settle in time for Chengdu, they have proven their new player has what it takes to succeed.
