G2 Esports have revealed ‘Red Aura’ and brand new IP and fantasy-action webcomic series as part of the organisation’s 10th anniversary.
The organisation claims the online comic will be inspired by ‘the ambition, achievement, and emotional journeys’ of G2’s decade in esports.
The webcomic has been developed in collaboration with renowned Japanese Art Director Runbel and KISAI Entertainment.
KISAI Entertainment were behind the webcomic adaptations of AVATAR: The Last Airbender and The Beginning After the End.

Red Aura debuts in Japan on WEBTOON’s LINE MANGA platform with additional languages coming to WEBTOON at a later date.
English is the only other confirmed language so far, with the English language platform for the webcomic due to be announced soon.
G2 states that other language adaptations will be announced further down the pipeline.
The first five episodes of Red Aura are already available in Japanese.
Episodes will be released weekly, with the first season featuring over 40 episodes in total.
G2’s press release claims webcomics are one of the fastest-growing digital entertainment forms, with WEBTOON attracting millions of global readers.
G2 says Red Aura is part of the esports organisation’s ongoing mission to push creative boundaries.
The organisation wants to continue to experiment with new forms of entertainment like music, fashion, and animation.
To celebrate the release of Red Aura, G2 released a fully animated trailer for the webcomic.
A few parts of the trailer show a character with their left eye closed, which could be a reference to the scar in G2’s logo.
While building an entirely original IP, G2 says it aims to connect with a new generation of audiences who “value creativity and emotion at the intersection of gaming and culture.”
There is an increasing amount of cultural crossover in esports, with LoL fans desperate for more K/DA after KPop Demon Hunters.
What is the plot of G2’s webcomic Red Aura?
The story of Red Aura is inspired by the underdog legacy of G2 and follows Asa, a young girl from the middle of nowhere.
The comic is set in a world of magical ‘nomads’ with incredible powers that shape the very reality around them.
G2 claims this magical world is full of unique powers, political games and personal challenges.
These challenges will cause the characters to grow ‘beyond their wildest expectations’ or suffer brutal consequences of the competitive world.
Main character Asa’s dream is to become the greatest Nomad the world has ever seen.
Each arc takes inspiration from a part of G2’s legacy, drawing inspiration from the real-life stories of G2’s esports stars.
The story of the org’s League of Legends team ended early as G2 were eliminated from LoL Worlds 2025 by TES.
These real-life esports stories will be reimagined in a way that is closer and more personal to the comic characters’ experiences.
The story is said to feature fast-paced action, heartfelt themes, and silly humour reminiscent of ‘great shonen series.’
