Swedish esports organisation Ninjas In Pyjamas (NiP) has confirmed the appointment of Grant Rousseau as Chief Operating Officer.
The Englishman recently departed Saudi Arabian organisation Team Falcons after helping them win the Esports World Cup for the second time.
The NIP Group confirmed that Rousseau will oversee the growth of the organisation’s esports divisions and oversee its global teams.
These teams include a top-level Counter-Strike team and a League of Legends team in China’s LPL.
Plus rosters in Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC, Honor of Kings, Rainbow Six Siege X, Crossfire, Rocket League, and Street Fighter.

Rousseau will work with NiP’s Co-CEOs Hicham Chahine and Mario Ho.
A press release from the organisation says Rousseau will ‘focus on driving both the competitive and non-competitive performance’ of NiP.
Rousseau previously was Director of Operations for Splyce and UK organisation Excel (now GIANTX), helping the latter join League of Legends’ LEC.
He later had a stint with another UK-based organisation with the now shut-down Guild Esports, which has left various staff unpaid.
But where Rousseau made his biggest splash was with Team Falcons while acting as their Global Director of Esports.
There, Rousseau helped the organisation win the lucrative Club Championship twice as he used the organisation’s huge finances to aggressively recruit star rosters across multiple titles.

This year, Team Falcons fielded teams in 22 out of the 26 esports tournaments at this year’s tournament in Riyadh.
However, despite various roster changes and big-name signings, Falcons couldn’t find success in Counter-Strike. The esport NiP is best known for.
NiP will likely be a fairly different challenge but it’s one Rousseau says he is looking forward to.
Explaining why he decided to join the Swedish organisation, he said:
“I’ve followed the organisation for over a decade as an esports fan, and after speaking with Hicham Chahine and Mario Ho, it’s clear there is an opportunity to bring back the competitive success and passion for the brand that has always made the organisation so special.”
The new NiP COO then outlined what his plans are for the esports team:
“I will be leading the performance and operations of NIP Group’s diverse esports rosters and strengthening the wider business across its established global verticals.
“The foundations are solid, and my intention is to take the organisation back to the very top.”
Hicham Chahine, Co-CEO of NIP Group, then added: “His [Rousseau’s]achievements speak for themselves…
“We’re confident Grant will continue to find success with our esports rosters and drive the esports division’s growth globally, and we can’t wait for him to get started.”
