Epic Games’ new major music collaboration is dropping soon with the Fortnite Daft Punk experience.
When is the virtual Daft Punk experience? What can players expect, and what game modes are attached?
What date and time is the Fortnite Daft Punk experience?
The Fortnite Daft Punk experience lands in the game on September 27th. For those in the UK, it will be launching at 7:00 pm BST.
Those seeking the experience can find it in Fortnite’s Discover area.
Daft Punk’s 7 pm entrance marks the grand opening of the experience. Players will still be able to access the activities and associated game modes after this grand opening.

What is the Daft Punk experience?
Several activities and immersive rooms are included in the immersive in-game Fortnite Daft Punk experience, crafted to celebrate the legacy of the iconic music group.
Filled with nostalgia, the experience will likely be a hit with Fortnite’s older players, and also bring Daft Punk to a fresh, young audience.
A new Dream Chamber Studio will be added to the game, where players can remix Daft Punk’s music. Alongside this, players can “blast hordes of robots” using a soundwave laser in the Robot Rock Arena.
In LEGO Fortnite, players will even be able to create a LEGO music video for Daft Punk’s iconic hit, “Around the World”.

For a unique touch, Daft Punk collaborators Hervet Manufacturier have designed in-game furniture as part of the event.
In total, 31 Daft Punk songs will be added to Fortnite in various forms. This includes a new jam track purchasable in the Fortnite store.
First Look: bundle and in-game cosmetics
The Daft Punk bundle and cosmetics will be available in the shop before the official Fortnite Daft Punk experience begins. As with Fortnite’s recently popular KIai Cenate collaboration in the Icon Series, this will likely cost between 1,500 and 2,200 V-bucks.
From September 26th at 1:00 a.m., Daft Punk’s signature outfits, helmets, and accessories will be available for purchase. These will be available in both Fortnite’s standard skin style and as LEGO Fortnite cosmetics.

Players can also purchase a Daft Punk Jam Track. Unsurprisingly, their mega-hit “Get Lucky” is the track of choice.
What makes this Fortnite music collaboration different from others?
The Fortnite Daft Punk experience is not the first music collaboration from Epic Games, and it certainly will not be the last. Most recently, British pop-rock band Gorillaz headlined the Fortnite Festival season, bringing their cartoon likenesses to the game.
Gorillaz introduced a new theme for Fortnite music collaborations: nostalgia.
In the past, music collaborations have typically been reserved for musicians with current major hits. At the very least, they are usually artists who are incredibly popular with younger generations.
However, both Gorillaz and Daft Punk indicate a pivot towards catering to the more experienced gamers. Both tap into early 2000s to 2010s nostalgia, targeting millennials and older Gen Z.
Despite Millennial and Gen Z hopes, unfortunately, Daft Punk have clarified that the band is not getting back together. The collaboration is purely a celebration of their existing music and is not related to any new release.
Fortnite confirms that the Daft Punk collab will not result in a reunion of the band 💔

"No. The Daft Punk Experience is an immersive music experience based on the band’s beloved music. The band is not getting back together." pic.twitter.com/wKnih8iBHf
Additionally, the Fortnite Daft Punk experience occurs outside of the usual Fortnite Festival or concert-oriented collaboration. Instead, it has been likened to an “interactive playground” featuring new ways to experience Daft Punk’s legendary music.
Many of Fortnite’s older players will hope that this more nostalgic approach to music collaborations continues.
Perhaps some apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur await in the future?
