BLAST Chengdu Dota 2 tournament announced for December in 3-year deal

A new BLAST Chengdu Dota 2 tournament has been announced for December 5th to 7th, 2025, adding to the long list of esports events held in the city this year.
Dota 2 Slam V will be run in collaboration with the Chengdu Broadcasting Film and Television Group as part of a three-year partnership with BLAST.
BLAST Dota 2 Slam V heads to China
The 12,000-seat Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre will host the BLAST Chengdu Dota 2 tournament from the 5th to the 7th of December. During the tournament, the world’s best Dota 2 teams will battle for a slice of the $1,000000 USD (~£740,510 GBP) prize pool.
BLAST Chengdu’s arena boasts a capacity of up to 12,000. Additionally, the online BLAST Chengdu broadcast will be available in over 50 territories and more than 30 languages.
Team Spirit currently boasts the best chances on Dota 2 betting sites to take the new BLAST Chengdu title. However, Team Falcons also boast encouraging odds. Team Falcons recently defeated Team Spirit in Fissure Universe: Episode 6, taking home the title.
Chengdu has become an epicentre for esports in recent years. This year, Chengdu boasts some of the best esports tournaments across several titles.
The newly announced BLAST Chengdu Dota 2 tournament is not an isolated event. Both Counter-Strike and League of Legends will host significant events in the city throughout the remainder of 2025.
From November 7th to 9th, IEM Chengdu, one of the most popular ESL Counter-Strike tournaments, will take place. All IEM Chengdu teams have been confirmed, and the list includes the esports’ best rosters.
Most significantly, the League of Legends World Championship will also take place in Chengdu this year. Therefore, millions of eyes will be on the city towards the end of the 2025 esports season.
BLAST and the Chengdu Broadcasting Film and Television Group sign a multi-year partnership
Chengdu’s status is on the rise in esports. Capitalising on this, BLAST has signed a three-year partnership deal with the Chengdu Broadcasting Film and Television Group.Evidently, the BLAST Chengdu Dota 2 Slam V is only the start. The two companies aim to continue hosting high-profile Dota 2 tournaments in the region.
Regarding the multi-year deal,

Chengdu also anticipates a significant economic and cultural impact from the event.
