More Predator Gaming gear – we check out hardware at IEM Katowice 2024
The Helios Neo 16 is a star gaming laptop, but Predator’s peripherals deserve your attention too, writes Hannah Marie
Back in February, Predator showcased their latest products at IEM Katowice 2024, and powered our coverage of the event too. While the brand is known for their range of high-spec monitors, the latest range of gaming peripherals deserves a spotlight.
Back in 2021, Steam revealed that despite being a PC-based platform, 10% of daily gaming sessions were being played on a controller, equating to approximately 48m players. Games such as Fortnite and Apex Legends are increasingly played on a controller over mouse and keyboard, likely increasing this number in more recent years.
Predator’s new wireless game controller perfectly caters to this growing audience, offering players an affordable yet high-quality option. At 200g, it has enough weight to sit comfortably in your hands without being heavy. With features including hall effect sensors, asymmetric analogue triggers, motion sensors, dual vibration motors, and dynamic lighting support, it fulfils all your base needs with efficiency and style.
This controller is the first to be launched under the Predator brand. For its entry into the controller market, Predator Gaming is focusing on making a more affordable, straightforward product that can serve its users well across a range of games. Its minimal adjustability matches its <£100 price point, instead prioritising affordability and ease of use.
For those sticking religiously to the traditional mouse and keyboard, Predator also has you covered. The new additions to their keyboard range will focus on providing full-size, high-powered peripherals with a clean look. Instead of producing a wide range of sizes and types, Predator has directed their attention towards maximising quality over quantity.
As Predator Gaming employees emphasised at its IEM Katowice showcase, a smaller range means more effort can be poured into the peripheral’s quality. Speaking on their overall approach to peripherals, the brand clarified that its goal is to be “well-balanced”—to focus on delivering on as many gamers’ wants and needs as possible in a compact range of high-quality products.
While its peripherals have perhaps unjustly flown under the radar, the Predator Helios Neo 16 gaming laptop has not – and for good reason. No rundown of a Predator showcase can exclude this stunning piece of technology, boasting three 14th gen Intel Core i9 Processor options. Its 16-inch 16:10 aspect ratio display has a 240Hz refresh rate and DCI-P3 100% colour gamut, taking vibrancy and clarity to a new height. Keeping the stunning system running without imitating a plane taking off on a runway is 5th-generation AeroBlade 3D fan technology.
Traversing the IEM Katowice Predator showcase resembles a trip to the future. Striking colours, sleek products, and devices carefully tailored to AI, gaming, and their dedicated customer base certainly deserve to take centre stage.
The Predator Helios Neo 16 is currently available to purchase on the Predator Gaming website. Keep your eyes peeled for new peripheral drops and our interview with R8G Esports from Katowice here.
