Nivo, a London-based esports management business, has today announced a new high performance division for esports athletes.
It’s announced a partnership with The Edge HPL (Health, Performance, Lifestyle), specialists in health and performance nutrition, as well as advanced physiological testing.
Together, they’ve created the Nivo High Performance Division – a programme utilising science and nutrition that aims to help esports athletes reach their full potential, and optimise their health, performance and overall quality of life.
Founded in 2021 by Tom Murray, a sports lawyer with a background of acting for Premier League footballers and World Champion boxers, alongside esports players and F1 drivers, Nivo represents top esports players and coaches, with a particular focus on Valorant, Counter-Strike and Rocket League.
Nivo acts for a select roster of clients, including the likes of Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev (Fnatic – Valorant), Vivian “roxi” Schilling (G2 Gozen – Valorant), Leo “Leo” Jannesson (Fnatic – VALORANT) and Brits James “Mistic” Orfila (Valorant) and Jack “ApparentlyJack” Benton (Gen.G – Rocket League).
As part of the partnership, Nivo will collaborate closely with The Edge HPL to deliver an education programme specifically developed to address the challenges faced by esports professionals in order to transform how esports athletes utilise the power of science and nutrition to optimise their health, performance and overall quality of life.
Over the six-month programme, experts from The Edge HPL will help participants improve their understanding of key performance fundamentals which includes modules on recovery, sleep, nutrition, hydration, supplementation and preparation for travel and competitions.
Nivo Founder and CEO, Tom Murray, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Edge HPL on this exciting collaboration. We established Nivo to introduce the professionalism of traditional sports and law into esports
and this partnership represents exactly that.
“We believe that esports athletes should receive the same level of holistic support as Premier League footballers, World Champion boxers and Formula 1 drivers, and improving education on how to maximise performance both on and off the server is an essential component of this.”
Founder and Managing Director of The Edge HPL, Dr Scott Robinson PhD MSc SENr, added: “We cannot wait to push the boundaries of esports performance in collaboration with Nivo.
“During our initial discussions, it was clear that there is significant cross-over between the day-to-day challenges faced by esports athletes and sports professionals. This collaboration builds on over 40 years of combined experience across academic and professional practice and was developed in conjunction with esports athletes to ensure Nivo’s clients have the knowledge, tools and practical “know how” to perform at their best, consistently.”
