A new Dungeons and Dragons beer has been announced to celebrate the release of the Honour Among Thieves movie in UK and Irish cinemas.
The Dungeons and Dragons film is out in cinemas tomorrow (Friday March 31st) and eOne has collaborated with British craft brewers Mondo to create a limited edition craft beer titled ‘Hither Thither’.
Dungeons and Dragons beer details
Inspired by the film, the beer has been named after the magical staff which can portal the user to another location. A 4.8% New England Pale Ale, Hither Thither is described as ‘a sessional pale ale bursting with fruit and haze’.
The Dungeons and Dragons beer comes in a can featuring artwork from illustrator Luke Drozd depicting the mythical creatures and locations from the film – including an owl bear, dragons, weaponry and other iconic elements from the world of Dungeons and Dragons, all wrapped around Mondo’s signature design style.
Dungeons and Dragons beer Hither Thither is now available through specialist craft beer retailers from March 27th. There’s behind-the-scenes footage of the beer being produced on Mondo’s official Twitter and Instagram.
Dungeons and Dragons (aka D&D) has of course inspired many role-playing video games and is played by many gamers around the world, including several people in UK esports.
“Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most iconic properties amongst craft beer drinkers and we were inspired by the film to create Hither Thither to transport drinkers into the world of Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves,” said Todd Matteson, Co-Founder of Mondo Beer.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves features Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head and Hugh Grant in a fantasy movie based on Hasbro’s iconic table-top game Dungeons & Dragons.
There’s more info on the Dungeons and Dragons beer on the Hither Thither page on the Mondo website.
It’s co-directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, plus the film’s audio description has been recorded by comedian, writer and British broadcasting personality Sue Perkins.
