Arena Clash, the grassroots UK esports tournament series from Belong Gaming Arenas, has announced Fortnite as its fifth title as it returns for another year.
Fortnite joins Arena Clash’s selection of popular titles: Valorant, Overwatch 2, League of Legends and Tekken 7 – bringing the overall prize pool for the next year to £24,000.
As with previous years, Arena Clash has a prize pool up for grabs for each title, comprising hardware and cash prizes, with a £10,000 cash prize pool for Fortnite alone.
League of Legends, Valorant and Overwatch 2 each have £3,900 prize pools, while Tekken 7 has a £2,600 pool.
Arena Clash encourages players aged 16+ to join local ‘squads’ – an identity gamers play under which is unique to their arena and location and includes friends, family, communities and teammates – and take on other squads from across the country. For example, there’s the Bradford Rams, Manchester Swarm, Stratford Spartans and many more.
Each UK arena has its own squad name, and there are currently 26 UK stores listed on the Belong website. Most are in England, with four in Northern Ireland, one in Wales (Wrexham Reapers) and one in Scotland (Aberdeen Gargoyles).
The most recent Arena Clash finals took place at Insomnia 68 in Birmingham earlier this year.
Belong is now encouraging players to sign up to take part in the latest Arena Clash tournaments.
Belong has also welcomed back HyperX as the headline sponsor of this year’s Arena Clash, while Xbox is on board as the tournament’s stream partner. Viewers can watch live throughout the group stages and all the way through to final at www.twitch.tv/belongarenas with weekly prizes and giveaways available through the stream.
Belong Gaming Arenas has been delivering grassroots esports experiences to gamers since 2016, and welcomes gamers of all abilities, ranging from amateurs to professional players and teams.
At each arena, players can watch their favourite teams compete, play with their friends on consoles and PCs, or take part in Belong’s nationwide esports tournaments.
Belong – which was sold by GAME to Vindex in 2020 – also has six stores in the US.
Key dates for the 2022 Belong Arena Clash are as follows:
- Team build week (for players to create teams and build relationships): week commencing September 26th 2022
