Riot Games has revealed Renata Glasc, the Chem Baroness, the 159th champion to be released in League of Legends.
Introduced as a support champion, Renata Glasc descends from ‘a family of resourceful and altruistic Zaunits alchemists’ and she will join the Rift in patch 12.4, which is due to drop around Wednesday February 15th 2022.
“Thanks to her foresight and business acumen, she grows up to be an important figure in the district,” read a press release blurb. “Ambitious and with an advanced technological heritage, she plans to go beyond the borders of Zaun.”
Her official announcement comes after Riot teased Renata Glasc on this Glasc Industries website, a fictional company founded by Renata. The site was set up to make it look like luxury fragrance/self defense/chemtech solutions were on sale.
A blurb on the site read: “We started with a dream: to make chemtech affordable, beautiful, and accessible for all. With origins in Zaun, we are committed to improving lives and earning our community’s trust. We donated hundreds of breathers to victims of last year’s noxious chemical fire. Now we’re extending our reach, starting with the City of Progress.
“For the last 30 years, Renata’s visionary work has touched civil development, tech, and philanthropy, collaborating with both citizens and chem barons to keep the streets safe. Currently, she heads Glasc Industries in its next objective: redefining beauty through state-of-the-art technology. To those who seek a greater future, Renata Glasc embraces all.”

This means Renata Glasc is another champion based in the city of Zaun in League of Legends’ world of Runeterra, joining the most recent LoL champion to launch, Zeri, who was announced last month.
This also means that Riot’s first two new LoL champions of 2022, previously teased as ‘an electric ADC and money-focused support’ – have now been revealed.

Passive – Leverage
Renata Glasc’s basic attacks mark her enemies and deal bonus damage. Damage from Renata’s allies consumes the mark, dealing additional damage.
Q – Handshake
Renata Glasc sends out a missile from her robotic arm that roots the first enemy hit. She can reactivate the ability to throw the enemy in a target direction, damaging enemies hit and stunning them if the thrown target is a champion.
W – Bailout
Renata Glasc grants an allied champion or herself ramping Attack Speed and Move Speed toward enemies. If the ally gets a takedown on an enemy champion, the buff duration resets. If the ally would die while Bailout is still active, their health is set back to full but they begin burning to death over three seconds. The ally can stop the burn by getting a champion takedown before they die.
E – Loyalty Program
Renata Glasc sends out chemtech rockets that shield allies and damage and slow enemies they pass through. The rockets also apply their effects around her on cast and in an explosion at max range.
R – Hostile Takeover
Renata Glasc sends out a cloud of chemicals that causes enemies to go berserk, increasing their Attack Speed and forcing them to basic attack anything around them. Berserk enemies prioritise attacking their own allies, then neutral units, then Renata Glasc’s team, then Renata Glasc herself.
Before Zeri and Renata, gloomy mage Vex and Akshan were announced for LoL.
