Queen Mary’s College (QMC), a sixth form college that teaches the esports BTEC qualification in Basingstoke, UK, has partnered with eSportskred to create an ambassador network of their sixth form students and staff members.
The idea is ‘to reach huge audiences on streaming and social channels’ and to promote the college’s values while increasing its marketing efforts.
Students will demonstrate their coursework on social and streaming channels and work with industry brands who are looking to sponsor the college.
In partnering with eSportskred, Queen Mary’s College will bring all their esports students and ambassadors onto the technology platform in order to create their own influencer/ambassador network.
The news comes after QMC students recreated the college’s esports facility in Minecraft ahead of the Minecraft Collegiate League.
QMC first opened its £300,000 esports facility in May 2021, which includes 52 gaming systems, an editing and streaming room, mini cafe and a yoga room.
James Fraser-Murison, director of learning for the creative arts at Queen Mary’s College, commented: “I constantly seek innovation for better, responsive curriculum delivery that meets the needs and interests of our students whilst sustaining the financial stability of the college.
“eSportskred’s solution enables us to build a scalable ambassador network with academic staff, students and ambassadors. We can now have one digital community and platform to showcase our students’ innovative works and to broaden their vision while working with well-known brands.”
eSportskred says its platform consists of audience insights, valuations, campaign management and analytics.
Vicky Cheng, global director for esports at eSportskred, added: “As Malcolm X once said: Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. We treasure the opportunity to work with Queen Mary’s College as a technology provider. QMC is a well-structured college, with the highest calibre of staff and modern infrastructure. We will be working with James and his team closely to pioneer and advance this project.”
eSportskred is part of the Sportskred Group.
Last year, eSportskred partnered with UK esports organisation Vexed Gaming.
