Update: Silco’s in-game model and animations have been revealed:
Silco, a popular character first introduced in Netflix’s League of Legends animated show, Arcane, is being added to a League of Legends game.
While Silco won’t be playable in the rift in the full League of Legends (LoL) game, he’s being added as a unit in Teamfight Tactics (TFT), Riot’s LoL-themed auto battler.
He will be added to the TFT Gizmos & Gadgets mid-set which is coming in February 2021.
Riot Games made the announcement today on the TFT Twitter account:
Silco is one of the main characters in Arcane’s nine-episode first season, as a villain central to the hostility between Piltover and its undercity, Zaun.
Riot Games communications specialist Rodger ‘MinionsRpeople2’ Caudill said in an announcement post on the League of Legends website that Silco had to be built from the ground up for TFT.
“Adapting this villain from screen to slightly-smaller-screen comes with its own set of challenges,” Rodger said. “As our first unit independent of League of Legends’ champion roster, Silco poses unique challenges and opportunities for the team.
“So to make Silco stand up as the villain you know and love-hate, we’ve started early on his concept, rigging, and animations. And cause we’ve started early, we’re also sharing early – just keep in mind that this is a work in progress, and good things take time!
Silco’s kit and abilities haven’t been revealed just yet, but Riot has promised ‘he will be a mastermind when it comes to combat’.
“Typically, we’re able to adapt League of Legends champions to Teamfight Tactics, with, well, a lot of work, but Silco isn’t coming to League of Legends, so we’ve had to build him from the ground up.”

Riot also hinted that there may be other outsiders joining the game in the future – “maybe some from outside of Runeterra entirely…”
This could suggest characters from Riot’s FPS game Valorant could be joining, or some from the Void in League of Legends lore, or perhaps we’re wrong and it could mean something else entirely!
