Update (June 20th 2022): Callum Daniel has left Guild Esports as he looks to other partnerships and opportunities within esports.

Original article: UK-based esports organisation Guild Esports has signed talented young individual Callum Daniel as an ambassador for its academy programme.

13-year-old Callum Daniel is the founder of iCodeRobots, which is based out of Loughborough University London and is designed to give children of all backgrounds and income levels the skills to build and code robots.

Callum founded this initiative when he was seven years old. Since then he has been awarded the 2021 global Young STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Personality of the Year from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, and is a recipient of the 2020 Diana Award, a ChangeMaker at the 2020 Children’s Media Conference and a presenter.

He has been featured in The Times, Guardian, The Voice Newspaper, Newham Recorder, the BBC, ITV News and more.

“Guild are about to help us children tap into the future in a big way and I’m so excited to be a part of this family.”

Callum is also an avid gamer with an ambition to have a career in esports. And he’s getting started with his new ambassador role at Guild Esports Academy, which launched back in May.

The news comes after Guild appointed Ryan Barnett (aka Barnetto) as operations manager at the Guild Academy. Barnetto was previously with Excel Esports for several years.

Callum Daniel said in an announcement post: “So proud to announce that I’m an ambassador for Guild Esports Academy co-owned by David Beckham and launched globally in June 2020. I’ve always been a gamer and this is another dream achieved.

“Children and parents have access to so many professional coaches [with the Guild Academy], many who worked for football academies and have a deep understanding on how to protect, guide, mentor, educate and motivate us. You all know me as the robotics CEO, athlete and presenter – add esports leader to that too because Guild are about to help us children tap into the future in a big way and I’m so excited to be a part of this family.”
