British League of Legends player Nubar ‘Maxlore’ Sarafian has joined Munster Rugby Gaming.
The former Misfits player had been rumoured to join the Irish team, Munster Rugby, which recently announced a gaming division after striking a deal with Phelan Gaming, and now his arrival has been officially announced.
Maxlore will be playing in the new Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC), which was revealed back in April.
This is a Northern European league run by DreamHack featuring 12 invited teams from across the Nordics, UK and Ireland. It starts this month.
Munster are one of five UK teams taking part in the NLC, the others being Fnatic Rising, BT Excel, MnM Gaming and Barrage Esports.

Maxlore said on Twitter he was ‘extremely happy to have the opportunity to join Munster and compete in the NLC’.
He started his playing career in the UK League of Legends esports scene with Perilous Rift back in 2014. He went on to win an early ESL Prem with Team Infused with Alphari (who is now at Origen) and also played with Choke Gaming.
Maxlore has played on the higher-tier LEC stage with Roccat and Misfits, but has been a free agent since late last year.
His move to Munster offers him a fresh start and a chance to prove why he deserves to be back on the LEC stage again.
The news comes after former Excel League of Legends coaching staff were reunited at Munster Rugby Gaming.
Jon ‘Just Jon’ Ellis recently joined as performance director, reuniting with Munster’s League of Legends head coach Josh ‘Furndog’ Furneaux, who previously worked with Jon at Excel.
