SK celebrates win at Wembley (ECS CSGO London finals recap & video)

ecs season 3 video recap 1

The Esports Championship Series (ECS) Season 3 CSGO finals were held in London at the Wembley SSE Arena from June 23rd to 25th. Alex Wright looks back on the finals including a video recap.
Leading up to the tournament teams from both EU and NA battled it out for the top four spots in their respective regions in order to gain a place in the $660,000 LAN finals and a chance to lift the ECS trophy.
As one of the largest UK esports events, thousands of fans gathered to watch some of the biggest CSGO teams play in the arena.
The crowd enjoyed the ups and downs, as we saw upsets like Fnatic getting knocked out in the first day. That was despite a strong showing the week before, where they finished second at DreamHack to SK Gaming.

After two days of intense action and great gameplay, the grand finals took place between SK Gaming and FaZe Clan.
It was a breathtaking final using full three maps playing into overtime on de_train. It wasn’t until overtime that SK Gaming managed to overcome FaZe, finishing the map 19-17 to win the ECS finals and receive $250,000.
SK Gaming also celebrated their win alongside their 10th anniversary with long-term sponsors HyperX, a brand that was showing off its gaming peripherals at ECS.
