A host of UK players from different teams are preparing to enter a new Overwatch tournament known as Overwatch Brawl #1.
Elysium, Pale Golden Rod, NerdRage, The Chavs and Penta Sports all have UK players on their teams and will be taking part.
NerdRage recently acquired an EU Overwatch roster and The Chavs won a tournament in France on the weekend, beating Team Dignitas in the final.
It features a €500 prize pool, with first place taking home €350 and second winning €150.
Unusually, another UK org – Feenix – is sponsoring the tournament, along with Strivewire and Noukky.
Full details and team rosters can be found here.
Alastair Whitham from Feenix said: “We are sponsoring the tournament while we don’t have an official team. We get to still support European Overwatch while it’s still ethical!
“I’ve been watching the Overwatch scene recently and with the ESL Premiership being quietly closed, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to help kickstart something that should be good.
“We do plan to pick up a team, but in my eyes it’d be unethical to sponsor both a tournament and a team.”
