While Delta Force is largely a Chinese dominant game, it is somewhat capturing western players. The game has a strong and stable playerbase, with a growing competitive scene. This is perhaps more notable after players returned to Delta Force with Battlefield 6, having cooled down since its October launch.
One of Britain’s most iconic esports organisations, Fnatic will be part of a historic first competitive season for the Delta Force franchise. The RISE Series operates on a specialised 3v3v3 tactical format called Operations, centred around squads securing and decoding data devices known as Mandelbricks. It’s smaller scale than the larger-scale 20v20 warfare mode seen in casual play. The circuit carries an annual $1,000,000 regional prize pool across its Americas and EMEA divisions, with full rosters scheduled to be announced in early July.
Fnatic will have to recruit a roster for the event, given they currently do not field a roster in the game. Many of the revealed franchise teams will also need to build a roster from scratch given this will be their first foray into Delta Force. So far, there seems to be a large presence of French and Russian and Ukrainian squads, but more nationalities and mixed teams will likely form in the near future.
The league’s structure reflects a deliberate push by Team Jade to establish Delta Force as a competitive title. The initial pairing with esports organisations boasting strong social presence across the Americas and EMEA regions could help attract new eyes to its game.
