Discord has revealed that League of Legends (LoL) was the communication platform’s most popular game in 2025.
Discord released a yearly recap reminiscent of Spotify Wrapped and revealed the platform’s statistics from the past year.
And through that, Discord handed out rewards to the games that its community members had been playing.

LoL was one of three games that Discord picked out as being extremely popular.
The MOBA was joined by the multiplayer football game Rematch, which was highlighted as the Breakout Hit of 2025.
And the co-operative survival horror game R.E.P.O. was chosen as Discord’s Biggest Indie of 2025.
Discord did not reveal how the popularity of these games was measured or the time Discord users spent playing them.
Meanwhile, Minecraft, Genshin Impact, and Marvel Rivals were revealed to have the biggest game communities on Discord.
Discord also revealed that over 744 billion messages and 25.7 billion reactions were sent on the platform this year.
The love heart was the most popular emoji on Discord in 2025, with it being sent 2.18 billion times.

Cinema! What will be in store for LoL Worlds 2026? pic.twitter.com/fobM3ZZEdV
Released back in 2009, LoL has maintained its immense popularity and has remained relevant for 16 years through constant updates.
And the esport remains popular too, with the League Awards 2025 winners showing that the game had another strong year.
LoL still has over 20 million monthly players, and this year’s LoL Worlds drew in a peak audience of 6.7 million during the final.
The bi-weekly patches and fans’ attachment to the esport have helped LoL survive this long.
Riot Games continues to refresh the game, with WASD controls and 7th items for ADCs coming to LoL in 2026.
New modes like Arena, Swiftplay, and Brawl seem to be attracting players new and old to the game as a more casual offering.

Your Discord recap is here! See the fun things you did in 2025 — # of messages sent, top games played, friends you spent the most time with, your favorite emojis, and more. Update your app to get started. pic.twitter.com/Cv1MgUGI4g
As well as revealing the platform’s stats for 2025, Discord is also giving its users personalised recaps for the year.
The Discord Checkpoint can be found on both the mobile and web app with a slideshow of stats like Spotify Wrapped.
The recap will show Discord users information such as the friends they talked to most, the games they played most, and the time spent on voice chat.
To access Discord Checkpoint on the computer/web app, users need to:
- Check you you have the latest version of the app.
- Press on the gren flag icon in the top-right corner to access your Checkpoint.
Meanwhile, mobile users wanting to find their Checkpoint need to:
- Check that you have the latest version of the app.
- Tap on the You tab in the bottom-right corner.
- Press on the Checkpoint banner to view your Checkpoint.
However, Checkpoints aren’t availble to everyone.
If users are too new, didn’t spent enough time on Discord, or didn’t have the “Use data to personalise my Discord experience” setting enabled.
Enabling this setting now still won’t allow users to have a Checkpoint as Discord will not have collected the necessary data.
