Fortnitemares 2025: What do we know so far?

This year’s major Halloween celebration from Epic Games and Fortnite, Fortnitemares 2025, has begun.

What can we expect from the month-long Halloween event this year?

Available now: Fortnitemares 2025 kicks off with the KPop Demon Hunters collab

October 2nd marks the drop of the Fortnite KPop Demon Hunters collaboration and the start of the Fortnitemares 2025 season. 

The Fortnite KPop Demon Hunters collaboration includes three skins (Zoe, Mira, and Rumi), three back blings (Instant ramen pots, matching each character), and three pickaxes. Each skin is also available in LEGO design.

There are also two new dance emotes (Golden and How It’s Done), a Zoey thumbs up emote, three in-game items and a new mythic sword. 

KPop Demon Hunters also take over the classic Fortnitemares game mode, Horde Rush. This year, “Demon Rush” enters Fortnite as a limited-time mode. Furthermore, players can enjoy the items, demons, and props available in a UEFN collab. 

Upcoming collaborations: The Black Phone

Reports suggest that KPop Demon Hunters is not the only major collaboration in October. Apparently, The Black Phone will also benefit from a Fortnite collaboration during Fortnitemares 2025. 

The 2021 movie “The Black Phone” quickly became a horror hit and is receiving a sequel on October 17th. It is suspected that the rumoured The Black Phone collaboration will launch at a similar time. 

Details about this collaboration are currently sparse. However, the iconic imagery and gripping horror storyline, featuring ghosts communicating with the living through a mysterious black phone, provide a wealth of opportunity for exciting minigames.

Rumoured collaboration: Scooby Doo

Given the likely timing of The Black Phone collaboration, the rumoured Scooby Doo collaboration will probably be the last of Fortnitemares 2025. 

It is expected that all five characters in the iconic Scooby Doo gang, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby, will make some form of appearance.

Many fans hope that skins will be made available for the childhood favourite (and adulthood favourite, for many) TV show. Although this might be a little tricky for Scooby himself, the human members of the gang will hopefully be included as Fortnite skins. 

Additionally, there are rumours that the Mystery Machine will be available as a cosmetic vehicle from the Fortnite shop, with one of the iconic Scooby Doo theme tunes included.  

Additional upcoming features: classic Hollywood Halloween in Fortnitemares 2025

For those seeking more classic horror this Halloween, Fortnite has you covered. Iconic horror movie characters seen before in-game, such as Leatherface, Michael Myers, and Billy the Puppet, are expected to return for Fortnitemares 2025.

However, players can also expect the Halloween staple that is Ghostface to make an appearance. Jason Voorhees, from the Friday the 13th franchise, will join him. 

Sources suggest that Ghostface and Jason Voorhees will have in-game implications relating to Medallions and other in-game weapons or objects. 

From the Terrifier franchise, Art the Clown is also suspected to be making an appearance sometime during October. Several leakers have also reported that characters from the iconic horror game Poppy Playtime will also join Fortnitemares 2025.  

Epic Games is pushing Fortnitemares 2025 further than ever before, with a long list of exciting characters joining the game. 

The Fortnite KPop Demon Hunters collaboration, the first major Fortnitemares drop, lands on October 2nd, but there is much more to come.
