UK EA FC players can compete for a trip to Miami in January with Red Bull’s Wings Cup

Red Bull has launched the Wings Cup, a new global EA SPORTS FC 27 tournament offering UK players the chance to compete all the way to a World Final in Miami in January 2027. The competition opens up from September 27th, with multiple routes into the bracket and a UK National Final taking place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London on the 14th November.

Fronting the UK campaign are Red Bull Player Angry Ginge (who sponsors a local football club to me btw). He is joined by EA SPORTS FC esports star Tekkz, a 5x FUT champion, alongside an ECL and E Prem winner. Speaking about the Red Bull event, Angry Ginge said: “This is a chance to experience it in a completely different way, with anyone able to get involved and compete for the chance to take it all the way to Miami.”

How to qualify for the Red Bull Wings Miami event

Players can enter through three routes from 27th September. PlayStation Tournament Online Qualifiers run through to 1st November, while University Qualifiers run through to the 7th November. Other Red Bull Wings Cup live activations take place across the UK throughout the competition period.

Players progressing from the PlayStation Open Qualifiers and live activations then enter the FACEIT Closed Qualifiers. The vent will feature a single-elimination bracket hosted on FACEIT for players to battle through a match at a time. Six finalists emerge from there to compete at the UK National Final on the 14th of November at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. One player from the National Final earns the trip to Miami in January.

Limited Edition Red Bull Wings Cup cans are available in stores from 1st September, with each can containing a QR code and unique tab code. Redeeming the code unlocks 250 EA SPORTS FC 27 Season Points, an exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup Ultimate Team Kit and a Red Bull Wings Cup Loan Player Item. Players can start preparing their Ultimate Teams from September 18th ahead of the tournament.

Remember, EA FC 27 officially launches on 25th September, with the early access coming on the 18th September. Again, that extra week could be important, as there’s other EA FC Pro London tournaments taking place in November too. If you’re a casual, don’t worry about spending big to get the game a week early.

Oh, there’s also an ASDA-exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup four-pack also offers the chance to win a trip for two to the Miami World Final, 23 pairs of Premier League match tickets, Red Bull Wings Cup jerseys, a PlayStation 5 Pro, DualSense controllers and copies of EA SPORTS FC 27. That’s one way to get a free PlayStation ahead of GTA 6’s launch. May have to think about whether it’s worth buying monster for your CoD XP boosters in that case as there’s competition.
