Pre-orders have opened for the upcoming League of Legends trading card game (TCG), Riftbound, with several UK retailers stocking the sets.
Zavvi sent out emails to customers earlier today, promoting pre-orders for Set 1 products.
Items include £19.99 pre-built 56-card Origins Champion Decks (in Viktor, Lee Sin and Jinx variants), plus a £29.99 Proving Grounds Box Set and £119.76 Booster Display, which features 24 packs.
Each pack features 14 cards: 7 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 3 Foils and 1 Token Slot. Around six epic rarity cards appear in each box.
The LoL Riftbound TCG supports 2-4 players, with 1v1 and 2v2 and free-for-all modes.
The news comes a week after Riot Games announced the name of its upcoming card game as ‘Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game’.
The game will launch with an inaugural set called Origins, with more than 300 different cards starting this Summer in China ‘followed by many English-speaking countries’ in October 2025, according to a recent Riot Games press release.
Riftbound will launch with several champions from the League of Legends universe including Annie, Garen, Jinx, Lee Sin, Lux, Master Yi, Viktor, Volibear, Yasuo and more.
Riot has teamed up with UVS Games for the products to ensure Riftbound can be found in their local game stores and participate in organised play.
Chengran Chai, Executive Producer at Riot Games, said: “We’ve been incredibly humbled by the excitement and interest from players around the world who can’t wait to play Riftbound. We’re grateful to the growing Riftbound community and the TCG players who’ve jumped in early to share their feedback including the call for more original art and refined UI.
“That feedback encouraged us to levelup the game experience by revisiting some of our design decisions and conducting more playtests to ensure thatwe’re delivering a game that players will love.”
The news comes a few weeks after Pokémon TCG fans complained as scalpers and bots snapped up pre-order stock of the upcoming Destined Rivals set.
