Update: Here’s the Worlds 2024 opening ceremony in full:
Original article:
Renowned rock band Linkin Park will be performing at the League of Legends Worlds 2024 Opening Ceremony on Saturday November 2nd.
They will take to the stage at London’s O2 Arena ahead of the grand final between Korean LCK team T1 and Chinese LPL team BLG.
While it was expected Linkin Park would perform at the arena given they wrote the official Worlds 2024 anthem this year, ‘Heavy is the Crown’, Riot Games has today confirmed it. This song will also appear on Linkin Park’s comeback album ‘From Zero’ on November 15th 2024.
The Worlds 2024 Opening Ceremony Presented by Mastercard will take place at 2pm GMT on November 2nd.
Linkin Park will be accompanied by other acts including pop/rap artist Ashnikko (performing ‘Pain the Town Blue’), electronic alt-pop trio Mars Atlas of Forts and newcomer Tiffany Aris (performing ‘Still Here’).
KSI, meanwhile, will not be performing ‘Thick of It’ live at the Worlds finals, despite all the memes.
‘Paint the Town Blue’ is a song used in Riot’s league of Legends Netflix show Arcane (whose London event will soon celebrate the launch of season two), and ‘Still Here’ is a song that accompanied the arrival of LoL Season 2024 at the start of this year.
Elsewhere, UK caster Medic will cast the Worlds final with fellow Brit Vedius and USA caster Kobe.
Riot has also announced the Worlds 2024 finals co-streamers for Saturday, who will be on-site at the O2.
EMEA co-streamers include Caedrel (English), Ibai (Spanish) and Tolkin (German).
