Performed by German orchestra Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg and conducted by Gast Waltzing, the Genshin Concert Tour brings to life the music of the game’s world, Teyvat, complemented by segments of gameplay on a huge screen behind the orchestra, live.
Founded in 1918, the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg orchestra has a history of collaborating with major film studios, contributing to numerous soundtracks and productions. It’s performed with top conductors and soloists, bringing a blend of classical and contemporary music to audiences.
The Genshin Concert Tour starts in London on October 29th, and will have two other stops across Europe: at Berlin’s Uber Arena on Monday December 2nd and Zénith Paris – La Villette on Sunday December 8th.
Outside of Europe, the concert is taking place in a variety of other countries:
The news comes a few weeks after the Ovo Wembley Arena hosted the Blast Premier Spring Final 2024 Counter-Strike esports event.
University esports body NSE has previously got involved with the game, with UCL winning the Genshin Impact University Invitational in 2022, and London’s Spitalfields Market hosting NSE’s Genshin Campus Celebration last year.
First released in September 2020, Genshin Impact is an open-world RPG. The original music of Genshin Impact is produced by Hoyo-Mix, the in-house music studio of the game’s developer. Set in the fantasy world of Teyvat, the game features seven nations, each with a unique musical theme and soundtrack collections that reflect the history, culture, landscapes, and adventures of each region.
“Built on orchestral foundations, Genshin Impact’s music incorporates elements from around the globe, painting a vivid audio picture of Teyvat’s diverse regions and peoples,” read a press release.
“The game’s story tells of a traveller entering Teyvat, embarking on a journey through various regions each with unique themes, such as freedom in Mondstadt, eternity in Inazuma, wisdom in Sumeru, and justice in an undiscovered nation. Accompanied by soothing melodies, the traveller uncovers forgotten legends and tales.”
Tickets for the Ovo Wembley Arena date are available to purchase at genshinconcert.live from July 18th 2024.
