The second season of the Rainbow Six Siege women’s esports league, Project Harmony, is underway, with NA and EU players competing.

Women in the Siege community formed the international championship in June 2023, and the latest season kicked off earlier this month on March 9th 2024.

The broadcasts are live every Saturday from 6pm GMT and the league is running over two months, with a round robin best-of-one format. Updates are also posted on the Rainbow Six Women’s Hub channels:

There are eight teams taking part: Admin Abuse, Akave Esports Black, CintaNegra Girls, Girls on Fire, Meep, Silly Slinkys (featuring pro NA talent Goddess and Marmalade), Wildcard Queens and Thirst Trap.

The latter team features well-known broadcast talent JessGoat, streamer Kitty_R6, Finnish player KartulPanda and two UK-based players, Jane and Sunjxya (aka Sunjaya).

Sunjaya Phillips, who is also one of the women that started Project Harmony, told Esports News UK: “Project Harmony, conceived by the dedicated staff members of the Women’s 10 Discord Server, emerged as a collective effort to revitalise the competitive scene. Established in early June 2023, the league commenced its initial matches on July 8th.

“The entire initiative, from operations to production, including roles such as admins, mods, producers, graphic designers, observers, casters, and social managers, work on a voluntary basis. The commitment and professionalism exhibited by these contributors have elevated the project to a commendable standard, all undertaken without financial compensation.

“A strategic decision was made to introduce entry fees, contributing to a prize pool that serves as a modest yet meaningful incentive for participants.

“With over 100 views on Twitch streams, the league has garnered attention, showcasing exhilarating matches across various skill levels. Teams participate for diverse reasons, be it for enjoyment, content creation, memes, or a return to competitive play after an extended break.”

“One of the distinctive features of Project Harmony is its inclusive international participation, with players from both Europe and North America. The league occasionally features matchups between EU and NA teams who have not previously faced each other.

“Despite the inherent risks associated with ping differences, this aspect was communicated clearly in the league’s rules and all players were well-informed. This unique dynamic has added an extra layer of excitement to the league, fostering an environment where EU vs. NA matchups coexist with regional contests, creating a truly engaging experience for all participants.

“To support this further, we have regional representatives: Natalie Michielli, the North America representative and Sunjaya Phillips (myself) the European representative.

“With Season 1 complete and Season 2 commencing, we aim to make each season we do better than the last. Season 2 has introduced the involvement of established organisations (Akave Esports, Wildcard Gaming, CintaNegra Esports) that are supporting the girls and giving them a professional structure throughout the league.”

Sunjaya previously said that Project Harmony’s mission is as follows: “Project Harmony is more than just a league – it’s a movement towards creating an inclusive and competitive space that highlights women gamers. Our journey in Season 1 laid the foundation, and Season 2 aims to elevate this experience.”

Here’s a recent clip from JessGoat playing in Project Harmony Season 2 last weekend:

There was previously a CCS Women’s League in Siege, which was once won by UK esports organisation Endpoint, though we understand this no longer runs due to a lack of funding.
