UK esports club and tournament operator The Goose House are the latest to join The UK Esports Team Committee (UKETC).
They’ve grown to become Europe’s largest Valorant community with more than 10,000 members, and run events such as women’s Valorant tournament Birds of Prey.
This tournament also allows teams to qualify for Riot’s VCT Game Changers Contenders, with the next one (Birds of Prey Series 7) taking place on September 23rd and 24th. Update: This was won by the Frogs on Fire roster:
The UKETC was formed in 2021 with the aim of progressing and growing the UK esports industry, and representing the voice of teams within wider industry discussions.
The Goose House join other UK esports entities in the UKETC: Endpoint, Excel, Fnatic, Futwiz, Guild, LDN UTD, Man City, Method, MNM Gaming, Resolve, Vexed and Wolves, with an update on London Royal Ravens coming soon (see comments below).
Dan ‘eLSD’ Ellis, CEO of The Goose House, told Esports News UK: “I’m excited to become a part of the UKETC. Being recognised for what we do in the UK esports landscape is a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work.
“I believe we bring a unique perspective to the table and the insights I anticipate from the other orgs in the UKETC will be instrumental for our growth.”
Jeff Simpkins, Chief Operating Officer at Resolve and Vice Chair of the UKETC, told Esports News UK: “We’re delighted to welcome The Goose House to the UKETC. They have built an incredible community around Valorant as well as being an important part of the ‘path to pro’ for aspiring players competing in the space.
“For the UKETC, they provide a different perspective and unique insight to discussions because of how they operate as an organisation and we’re excited to have their contribution.”
On the London Royal Ravens moving away from the UK to become the Carolina Royal Ravens, Jeff added: “We will be having a discussion at our next meeting regarding Royal Ravens’ continued involvement in the UKETC, as they are transitioning from London to Carolina and will no longer be operating as a UK team.”
Earlier this year, UKETC esports teams added psychological first aiders to boost mental health as part of a Play Aid partnership.
