Great Ormond Street Hospital hosts Charity Streaming Week featuring Bex Bomb and Milky Queen among other UK streamers

Great Ormond Street Hospital

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is hosting its first Charity Streaming Week, featuring several UK streamers such as Bex_Bomb and Milky Queen.

The aim of the campaign is to raise money for GOSH Charity by encouraging fans to watch their favourite streamers or set up their own fundraiser. The campaign runs from Monday November 7th to Sunday November 13th 2022.

Money raised from this event will support the children’s hospital, which sees around 600 children from across the UK arrive every day, with often complex and life-threatening conditions.

This includes research, advanced medical equipment, child and family support services and the rebuilding of wards and medical facilities.

Viewers can follow their favourite streamers and donate via their individual Tiltify pages (linked at the bottom of this article), as well as host their own fundraising stream or challenge.

Milky Queen, a British VTuber based in Japan, is amongst those involved. She has over 47,000 YouTube subscribers, and has fundraised for GOSH Charity once previously, raising £10,000 for the cause.

Also taking part is Bex Donald, more commonly known as Bex_Bomb, or Bex Bomb, is a presenter for Xbox with 4,000 Twitch followers. She is a Scottish variety streamer living in London and has been streaming since 2017.

UK speedrunning collective UKSM is also on board with the initiative.

Another streamer involved is Twitch affiliate Simon Archer, also known as The Gaming Vicar/Vicarious BIG. Simon is a Church of England Vicar in Bexley, London. Simon has decided to get involved with the event as his daughter has juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and herself has been a patient of GOSH for 10 years, since she was three years old.

Twitch streamer Micky D set his goal for the whole week at £1,500, and managed to break that goal in a day.

One fundraising stream came from YouTuber flightdeck2sim, who is currently flying virtually from London to Gibraltar and back whilst simultaneously raising money for GOSH Charity. He’s already raised £1,000 in just under the first hour of his livestream.

Liz Tait, director of fundraising at GOSH Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be launching the first ever GOSH Streaming Week.

“It’s a relatively recent area of development for GOSH Charity fundraising, so we’re really looking forward to reaching new supporters and seeing the results. We’re also very grateful to the celebrity streamers for using their platforms to raise much needed funds and awareness of GOSH.”

Streamer Milky Queen added: “All the work that GOSH does is so important for helping children and their families. I’m excited to try streams outside of my comfort zone and have fun together with my supporters all for a great cause.”

The GOSH initiative is the latest gaming and streaming-related charity drive in the UK, with Jingle Jam 2022 also around the corner.

You can keep up to date via the Stream For Gosh Twitter page and make a donation or fundraiser on the GOSH Streaming Week Tiltify page.
