London’s Red Bull Gaming Sphere is set to host the UK finals of student Valorant tournament Red Bull Campus Clutch later this month.
On Sunday November 20th, four teams will battle it out for a place at the grand finals in Brazil. These UK finals will be streamed on the Goose House Twitch channel, hosted by UK Valorant casters Matt “Twiggy” Twigg and Vicki “Gottmoxi” Johnson.
Red Bull Campus Clutch gives student Valorant players an opportunity to compete on a world stage. It’s open to all college and university students globally, with players able to represent their campus.
More than 80 competing student teams (consisting of 400+ players overall) from across the UK have been whittled down to just four for the LAN semi-final stage. And the final UK winner will be invited to compete in the world final competition phase and compete for a grand prize of €20,000.
The four qualifying winners – Just Essentials, Last Dance, Birmingham Bulls and Casa Norturna – will battle in a best-of-three format at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere, in a North and South semi-final before a final showdown.
The grand finals in Brazil will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on December 13th to 16th 2022.
50 teams will join together for the LAN final, which will be broadcast live with support from Iain Chambers and Loviel “Velly” Cardwell, alongside Alex “Vansilli” Nguyen, Jessica “Jess” Bolden, Gustavo “Upmind” Franco Domingues, John Allen, Peter “Kremer3” Kremer and Ethan “Sully” Tran.
Red Bull and National Express also toured Bristol, Edinburgh and Warwick university campuses to offer students a pop-up Valorant experience. The Valorant shooting range test challenged students at each university to set high scores, with each winner receiving two tickets to December’s separate Red Bull Home Ground event in Manchester, including complimentary National Express travel and hotels.
Teams from more than 50 countries have been able to get involved in Campus Clutch.
Several global partners are supporting Red Bull Campus Clutch this year, including Intel NUC, SteelSeries and AGON by AOC, as well as National Express.
