The Spanish League of Legends Iberian Cup tournament will get its own official English language broadcast after organisers LVP reached an agreement with The EUniverse.
Casters will include One Ring Wraith (Portugal), Noa (Spain), Roodood (UK), Middlecott (UK), DocDa (UK), Carmeline (Spain), Woong (Belgium), Oak (UK), Duckling (Denmark) and Temporal (UK).
And over the coming weeks, The EUniverse will be rotating talent, so expect other casters to make an appearance.
The EUniverse is a European League of Legends broadcast and content creation collective which has run several English language broadcasts of European Regional League (ERL) content in the past, such as the play-ins stage of the EU Masters and part of the UK and Nordics’ NLC Aurora Open alongside Rate Gaming and Eldorado.
The Iberian Cup is an annual League of Legends tournament that usually features a mix of 16 teams from across Spain, Portugal and Italy. For this year, however, the Iberian Cup features 32 teams, an interesting ‘fearless’ format, but only Spanish teams due to new Riot Games ERL rgulations, which state that ‘teams need to participate in their region’s Pro-Am and won’t be able to participate in more than one Pro-Am’.
LVP has reached an agreement with The EUniverse to become the official channel of the Iberian Cup in English.
The EUniverse is also teaming up with Awesome Streamers as production partner. It will assume the broadcasts of the Iberian Cup from today, in the middle of the round of 16 of the competition, and until its final, which will be held at PortAventura World on November 19th 2022.
The EUniverse was first announced last year, as several League of Legends casters banded together from across Europe to cover the LoL ERLs.
Spain is one of two of the most popular European regions for League of Legends in Europe, with the Spanish LVP Superliga and France’s LFL being the two most-watched European Regional Leagues. These sit below the higher-tier Europe-wide LEC.
EUniverse head shark (and occasional Esports News UK writer) Megalodontus said: “And here we go, the EUniverse will be broadcasting the Iberian Cup 2022 in English! Thanks to Noa, [EUniverse founder] Dino and LVP for making this a reality. I still can’t believe we got it. As usual, we will do our best. Please tune in today!”
The Iberian Cup English language broadcast is live on the EUniverse Twitch channel.
