The British Esports Federation has announced the esports finalists set to take part in the live Student Champs grand finals in Nottingham in July.
The LAN event will take place at Confetti X, the brand new esports arena at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in Nottingham, on July 2nd and 3rd 2022.
Teams will compete in Overwatch, League of Legends, Valorant and Rocket League.
The Student Champs, a series of competitive grassroots video game tournaments, were designed by British Esports for students aged 12+ and are open to all secondary schools, Further Education (FE) colleges and Alternative Provision (AP) schools throughout the UK.
From over 700 teams across the UK competing in the Winter and Spring seasons throughout 2021/22, only the final 20 remain to battle it out in the live grand finals.
The finalists and times (subject to change) include:
Saturday July 2nd (main stage):
- 10.30am – Rocket League Div 2 (Alva Academy v Queen Mary’s College Basingstoke)
- 12.30pm – Rocket League Div 1 (Exeter College v Farnborough Sixth Form College)
- 2.30pm – Natspec Xbox Invitational Showmatch
- 4.30pm – League of Legends Div 2 (Queen Mary’s College Basingstoke v Cheshire College South & West)
- 6.30pm – League of Legends Div 1 (Altrincham Grammar School for Boys v Exeter College)
Saturday July 2nd (Division 3):
- 10.30am – League of Legends Div 3 (South Devon College v Halesowen College)
- 12.30pm – Overwatch Div 3 (NSCG v Farnborough College of Technology)
- 2.30pm – Rocket League Div 3 (Halesowen College v North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College)
Sunday July 3rd (main stage):
- 10.30am – AoC Sport FIFA Cup Finals (Playstation)
- 11.00am – AoC Sport FIFA Cup Finals (Xbox)
- 1.00pm – Valorant Invitational (Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group v Coleg Sir Gar)
- 3.30pm – Overwatch Div 2 (Farnborough Sixth Form College v Altrincham Grammar School for Boys)
- 5.30pm – Overwatch Div 1 (Queen Mary’s College Basingstoke v Gower College Swansea)
The finals of the AoC Sport FIFA 22 Cup and a showmatch from the Xbox Invitational of Natspec colleges will also take place. There will also be keynotes, arcade games and wider activities for spectators and finalists.
Doors will open from 9am for finalists and 10am for spectators.

The Student Champs will also be broadcast as a livestream via the British Esports Twitch channel.
