Vodafone Giants have signed UK support player Raymond ‘KaSing’ Tsang to complete their 2021 Summer League of Legends roster.
27-year-old KaSing (pictured left) arrives alongside 16-year-old Turkish jungler Doğukan ‘113’ Balcı (right) and Spanish mid-laner Ismael ‘Miniduke’ Martínez. They join up with Spanish top-laner Antonio ‘Th3Antonio’ Espinosa and Portuguese ADC Amadeu ‘Attila’ Carvalho, to compete as Giants’ LoL team in in the Spanish LVP Superliga, which kicks off on May 31st.
KaSing was most recently with MoviStar Riders, and prior to that was with UK organisation Excel Esports’ academy team BT Excel. He said upon leaving Excel last year that one of the biggest problems in UK League of Legends is that teams are more inclined to import.
Alejandro ‘Jandro’ Fernández-Valdés and José Miguel ‘FearlessS’ Pinto will continue to serve as team coaches.
David ‘Lozark’ Alonso, head of gaming at Vodafone Giants, said: “We know what Miniduke can bring us to our game, to the team and to the environment in general. KaSing, at a mechanical and communication level, is the player who has surprised us the most. I think he was the best choice.
“And the great strength of 113 – he’s an aggressive player and very intelligent, despite how young he is. He has a lot of knowledge of the game, he will develop even more with us and has an incredible future. KaSing has already [settled in] and they are like father and son. That will make them grow as support and jungler.”
Giants say the aim this season is to lift the Spanish title for the seventh time.
The news comes after the org announced a rebrand, including a new logo. The rebranding was carried out by designer and illustrator Alex Trochut, author of campaigns for Nike, The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, Coca Cola and The New York Times. And Teatro Soho Televisión (TST), the production company of Antonio Banderas and María Casado, created the advertising campaign ‘Giants, everything has changed’, to publicise the team’s new identity.
José R. Díaz, CEO of Vodafone Giants, commented: “When something changes in you, when everything changes around you, you have to do something. You have to show your evolution. We have matured all these years and although our spirit remains unchanged, we wanted to show this growth to the world.
“It was time to renew ourselves and face the future with the same ambition and optimism that characterises us. This redesign will help us to grow further, to connect with millions of fans around the world. These fans make up ‘The International Winners Club’ and that’s why we wear them on our new skin.”
Miniduke, KaSing and 113 replace outgoing League of Legends players Ronaldo ‘Ronaldo’ Betea, Kamil ‘Kamilius’ Košťál and Cantoursna ‘Nji’ An.
