Things always seem to be non-stop busy when you’re writing news and esports coverage, but this August will really put us to the test.
Here at Esports News UK we’ll be reporting live from three big events this month:
- The Call of Duty World League Championship, Orlando – August 9th-13th
- Gamescom, Cologne – August 23rd-26th
- Insomnia61, Birmingham – August 25th-28th
Dom Sacco and Craig Robinson will be at i61, focusing on League of Legends and a mix of other news, while Jacob Hale will be covering the CoD Champs, and at Gamescom he’ll be specifically reporting on the Rainbow Six tournament, plus potentially some other games and news.
We’ll mainly be doing what we’re known for – writing articles – though Dom will have his camera gear with him at i61 too.
As always we’ll be taking the UK esports angle, where possible, but as outlined here we want to bring you more exclusive news and unique content that’s of interest to the wider esports community too.

Dom is an award-winning writer and finalist of the Esports Journalist of the Year 2023 award. He graduated from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 degree in Multi-Media Journalism in 2007.
As a long-time gamer having first picked up the NES controller in the late ’80s, he has written for a range of publications including GamesTM, Nintendo Official Magazine, industry publication MCV and others. He worked as head of content for the British Esports Federation up until February 2021, when he stepped back to work full-time on Esports News UK and offer esports consultancy and freelance services. Note: Dom still produces the British Esports newsletter on a freelance basis, so our coverage of British Esports is always kept simple – usually just covering the occasional press release – because of this conflict of interest.
