Legends of Gaming Live is taking place at London’s Alexandra Palace on Saturday September 5th, bringing together a bunch of the UK’s top gaming YouTubers, streamers and personalities.
But what’s happening there exactly? Let’s take a look…
The idea behind the 12-hour event is to let visitors watch their favourite gamers play against each other, pro gamers and even challenge them themselves, as well as attempting to break Guinness world records and win competitions.
We’re not sure you can call a bunch of teenagers and young gamers ‘legends’ already but there’s no doubting their enormous popularity – these guys’ videos have billions of views on YouTube and a loyal following.
Some – like Ali-A – will even have their own areas at the show, where you can take part in challenges, and in Ali-A’s case try to break his Minecraft world record (‘Most wood collected in three minutes on Minecraft on PS4 – 78′). Others with their own sections include Syndicate, Calfreezy and Wroetoshaw.
The event will also be livestreamed online.
So what else will be happening on the day?
- There will be a tournament zone, in partnership with Multiplay, letting gamers team up or compete against each other in Minecraft Parkour and FIFA Cup
- Gamers can play with or against ‘legends’ on stage in a game of Super Smash Bros, Minecraft or Splatoon
- Cosplay (of course)
- The event will allow attendees to challenge pro gamers Ryan Hart, Dave Bytheway and Ramesh Singh
- Take to the ‘Presenters Podium’ for 30 seconds and “do something that could make you the next big gaming star”. Hmmm… sounds to us this means: “Do something stupid so we can post it on the internet and laugh at you!”
- An Indie Zone promises to introduce you to “some incredible, quirky and utterly addictive masterpieces” being created in sheds, spare rooms and university campuses
- Competitions with prizes including PS4 and Wii U consoles, games and 3D printed weapons
The event is being organised by Endemol Shine in partnership with the likes of IGN, Nintendo, PlayStation, Konami and Twitch. Oh, and our friends Yoyotech are also sponsoring the event, so make sure you check out their PC systems on the day!

Cool, I wish I was popular on YouTube.
