Who performed well and who stumbled in the Group Stage Qualifier?
BLAST Open Fall teams threw some curveballs in the Group Stage Closed Qualifier.
Least surprising was Team Vitality’s qualification. Despite the team failing to retain their early-season success, the roster is still performing well, placing them as one of the favourites on Counter-Strike betting sites to win the tournament. They won all three of their Group Stage matches.

NAVI’s shock elimination was the first surprise during the tournament. M80 knocked them out of the competition early, devastating their chances of returning to a London Final.
Team Spirit was another BLAST Open Fall team that struggled in the Group Stage Closed Qualifier. Another loss to Furia, who knocked them out of the Esports World Cup, pushed them into the Lower Bracket Semifinal.
They were able to defeat Team Liquid to reach the Lower Bracket Final. However, their final Group Stage match against G2 was a humiliation.
Despite winning Map 1, they were unable to find momentum or coordination.
After a disjointed performance on Dust 2, they were forced to Map 3 on Ancient, where they were obliterated by G2’s 11-1 T-side performance. They could not pick up a single round during their own T-side, ending their BLAST Open run with a crushing 1-13 loss.
On the other hand, FaZe Clan’s Group Stage Closed Qualifier run showed promise.
The team has struggled to perform in recent tournaments. Aurora eliminated them early in the Esports World Cup, and they were brutally denied participation in BLAST Bounty Fall 2025, eliminated by Virtus.pro in the Closed Qualifier.
Now that the team is returning to a LAN stage, fans will gain their first true insight into how their new addition, Jakub ‘jcobbb’ Pietruszewski, will perform for FaZe.
