ALGS Year 5 Championship: All team Groups and Group Stage schedule (UK & US time zones)

Sapporo’s ALGS Year 5 Championship is just around the corner, and all four Groups for the tournament’s Group Stage are set.

Which of the four Groups will be the most competitive, and when will each Group Stage set take place?

Which Group A teams will likely be most impactful at the ALGS Year 5 Championship?

EMEA’s best chance at winning the ALGS Year 5 Championship title sits in Group A in the form of the formidable Alliance.

John ‘Hakis’ Håkansson, Miron ‘Effect’ Novikov, and Andre ‘unlucky’ Türk have earned a lethal reputation and are widely considered the best European team in Apex Legends history.

While they only have one LAN title in the form of the 2024 Esports World Cup, the explosive power of Effect and unlucky combined with Hakis’ expert IGLing is a mix that no Apex pro dares underestimate.

Another potential ALGS Year 5 Championship heavy-hitter in Group A is Crazy Thieves.

The new ALGS brand born from 100 Thieves and Crazy Raccoon’s new partnership features Evan ‘Verhulst’ Verhulst, Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose, and Josue ‘Phony’ Ruiz on the roster.

All three have LAN titles to their name, including Championship titles from both Verhulst and Genburten.

LEGACY will also be a must-watch team from Group A.

The longstanding Mexican trio of Saul ‘YanYa’ Ocampo Plascencia, Alexis ‘Jaguares’ Martinez, and Luis Enrique ‘Neazul’ Ramos Suarez are still seeking their first LAN title, and have demonstrated in the past that they are capable of doing so.

Which Group B teams will likely be most impactful at the ALGS Year 5 Championship?

Nestled in Group B are several teams that could make a strong impact on the competition.

Gen.G Esports are certainly at the forefront of this potential. Papangkorn ‘ASIAZXD’ Pattarawonghan, Lertpong ‘Dexter’ Nakurai, and Lertpong ‘Dexter’ Nakurai are one of the longest-standing trios in ALGS history, and have had a dominant Year 5 season in APAC South.

The three Thai players were signed by Gen.G in May 2025, and their performance has since earned them extended contracts with the organisation until 2028.

There are also former international LAN winners on both Shopify Rebellion and S8UL Esports’ rosters. Experience and a drive to relive trophy-seizing moments could push either team to the top during the ALGS Year 5 Championship Group Stage.

Also holding the potential to hit critical plays is Fnatic. The team’s Japanese roster includes Yuga ‘YukaF’ Horie, a long-time Fnatic player known for their MnK prowess.

Which Group C teams will likely be most impactful at the ALGS Year 5 Championship?

Perfectly poised to provoke drama, Group C features a titanic rivalry.

After a turbulent time competing on the same team, Apex’s two most accomplished IGLs, Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen and Rhys ‘Zer0’ Perry, will butt heads as opponents once more. Team Falcons and Liquid Alienware being in the same group will certainly make any Group C game a must-watch.

However, the revival of ImperialHal and Zer0’s rivalry should not be allowed to overshadow some of the other talent in the group.

The combination of fresh and experienced talent on TSM could bring unpredictable results. Despite not yet having reached the results they would like, they do have the potential to be a disruptive force at the ALGS Year 5 Championship if given the chance.

Meanwhile, EMEA’s FaZe Clan has a history of disruptively unexpected explosive performances, often when under the most pressure.

During the EMEA Split 1 Regional Final, FaZe Clan pulled dramatic high-point games out of the bag to draw out a monstrous 11-game match after a sluggish start. Although GoNext eventually won the final, FaZe shocked viewers with a sudden change in pace.

Furthermore, shortly after heartbreak at the EWC Midseason Playoffs, the team won the SteelSeries EMEA invitational Match Point Final in a shocking 5-game stomp.

Needless to say, they are an incredibly unpredictable team, often taking others off guard.

Which Group D teams will likely be most impactful at the ALGS Year 5 Championship?

Nestled in Group B are Jose ‘Uxako’ Llosa and Filipe ‘Hiarka’ Morgado, both members of the Year 4 Championship-winning team and now signed to Aurora Gaming. Alongside their third player, Anton ‘Slab’ Eklundh, they will be hungry for repeat success.

Aurora’s previous roster is also worth keeping an eye on, thanks to their entertaining, aggressive playstyle.

Kiryl ‘9impulse’ Kostsiu, Assanali ‘kazakh’ Zhandildin, and the nicknamed “Grim Reaper” Konstantin ‘Hardecki’ Kozlov have a wealth of experience in competitive Apex Legends. The fact that they were forced to secure invites through the EMEA Last Change Qualifier should not serve as a reason to underestimate their abilities.

From the Americas, Ninjas in Pyjamas will also be eager to make an impact at the ALGS Year 5 Championship. The roster is guided by coach Elias ‘raven’ Ghribi, best known for coaching TSM’s record-setting 2023 season.
