Fnatic confirm rookie Empyros as new LEC toplaner

Fnatic are starting to reveal their League of Legends roster for the LEC 2026 season with the signing of Panagiotis ‘Empyros’ Tantis.

The Greek toplaner had a solid season in the ERLs, competing with Gentle Mates in the LFL and EMEA Masters Summer 2025.

This will be Empyros’ LEC debut as one of the many rookies joining the league next year.

Empyros will replace Óscar ‘Oscarinin’ Muñoz Jiménez in the top lane, though the Spaniard appears to be staying with the organisation.

According to reports, Fnatic haven’t been able to find a team for Oscarinin, and there is no indication he’ll share the role with Empyros.

Oscarinin has been with Fnatic for three years and showed a lot of potential with some high highs, but a lot of inconsistency.

With multiple solokills and early leads against the strong Kim ‘Canna’ Chang-dong, Oscarinin was MVP as Fnatic eliminated Karmine Corp and qualified for LoL Worlds 2025.

But after being the first team eliminated from Worlds, Fnatic needed to make changes.

There will be high hopes from Fnatic fans that rookie Empyros is the talent they’ve been looking for.

In his first interview with the organisation, Empyros admitted that fans will understandably be sceptical about him:

“I think fans will be surprised by my gameplay. I think they probably will not rate me that high, but I’m pretty sure I will be up to their standards and more.”

At the very least, Empyros seems to at least believe in himself”

“I’m really confident in myself playing versus the best toplaners.”

“Also, in-game, I will bring a carry top laner. I really like playing carries, overall. I also think the meta this year will be most of the carry top laners.”

Fnatic LEC roster for 2026

Fnatic teased that it would be a week full of LEC announcements as the team has reportedly had their new roster locked for a while.

The roster was completed once Fnatic re-signed jungler Iván ‘Razork’ Martín Díaz for the 2026 LEC season.

He and botlaner Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp are the only returning members to the new-look Fnatic team.

Upset will be joined by Korean support Park ‘Lospa’ Joon-hyeong, who played for GIANTX Pride last season.

And Empyros will be joined by a fellow Greek pro as Fnatic have reportedly completed the marquee signing of Vladimiros ‘Vladi’ Kourtidis.

Vladi looked like one of the LEC’s best midlaners last season with KCorp, but his season was overshadowed by arguments with fans.

If Fnatic can get the best of the talented midlaner, they could be title challengers in 2026.
