Fnatic have announced they are allowing Mihael ‘Mikyx’ Mehle to leave the LEC team after their League of Legends Worlds elimination.
The UK-based organisation and the Slovenian support have mutually agreed to part ways.
The former G2 Esports LoL support is considered one of the region’s best players in his position and still had a year left on his contract.
Yet, he is leaving Fnatic after a rocky season filled with poor results.
Today we announce that we're mutually parting ways with @mikyx as he sets out to explore new opportunities beyond the Black and Orange.

A huge thank you to Miky for everything he’s brought to Fnatic this year. While we didn’t achieve everything we hoped for together, he’s been… pic.twitter.com/GUYLlA4Y2P
Fnatic’s drama-filled LEC season
Fnatic had a turbulent season filled with talk of behind-the-scenes drama.
Having failed to qualify for First Stand and the Mid-Season Invitational, Fnatic’s coaching staff began to bemoan their players’ efforts.
LoL Head Coach Fabian ‘GrabbZ’ Lohmann criticised the team’s Spring Playoffs performance publicly on Twitter:
“Not surprised by the result, surprised by how little of a fight we have shown today.
“It’s also getting tiring to pretend the efforts day to day are enough.”

It's also getting tiring to pretend the efforts day to day are enough. Everything will stay internal but the tone will change for summer.

His Assistant Coach, Christopher ‘Duffman’ Duff then added:
“You earn confidence and trust through meaningful practice but if you don’t do that then you earn the opposite and it showed today.”
Grabbz also revealed Fnatic’s LEC team tried muted scrims to fix internal issues.
After replacing Marek ‘Humanoid’ Brázda with Yoon ‘Poby’ Sung-won, Fnatic did qualify for the LoL World Championships.
But Fnatic crashed out of the tournament without winning a single series, losing to CTBC Flying Oyster, Bilibili Gaming, and Movistar KOI.
This then caused another member of Fnatic’s coaching team, Pablo ‘Gaax’ Pérez, to attack Fnatic’s players:
Hemos hecho un torneo lamentable, no tenemos los fundamentos suficientes para jugar un game medio decente.

He dado mi 100% este mundial pero eso no importa cuando no todos estamos igual de implicados.
No tengo ni palabras, absoluta vergüenza.
“We’ve had a deplorable tournament, we lack the basic fundamentals to play a half-decent game.
“I gave my 100% in this World Cup, but that doesn’t matter when not everyone is equally committed. I’m at a loss for words, absolute shame.”
It’s not clear whether Mikyx was part of the problem or wanted to leave because of these issues.
Fnatic have made a few unpopular roster decisions this week as Fnatic confirmed Cai ‘CYPHER’ Watson won’t play in the StarLadder Budapest CS2 Major.

Mikyx is considered one of EMEA’s greatest ever LoL supports.
He was part of the famous G2 team, which won MSI 2019 and reached the Worlds final the same year.
After missing out on Worlds with G2 and Excel in 2021 and 2022, Mikyx has attended the last three LoL Worlds.
He is also an eleven-time LEC champion, making him the league’s most decorated support.
There will certainly be interest in the player from LEC and LCS teams, as long as he continues competing.
