Week 2 of League of Legends Worlds 2025 is set to begin on October 22, following the completion of the first three rounds of the Swiss Stage.
The Round 4 draw sets up a scintillating round of matches, which will determine the six remaining playoff spots for Worlds 2025.
Lol Worlds Round 4 draw (almost) perfect for Western teams
The League of Legends World Championship Round 4 draw is:
High (2-1)
Hanwha Life Esports vs CTBC Flying Oyster (09:00 BST, Oct 22)
G2 vs FlyQuest (12:00, Oct 22)
GEN.G vs Top Esports (12:00, Oct 23)
Low (1-2)
Movistar KOI vs Team Secret Whales (09:00, Oct 23)
Bilibili Gaming vs Vivo Keyd Stars (09:00, Oct 24)
100 Thieves vs T1 (12:00, Oct 24)
G2 and FlyQuest set to collide again, but will MSI ghost haunt G2?
Round 4’s draw set up the rest of the Swiss Group Stage in a truly intriguing fashion, with 1-2 powerhouses avoiding each other and opportunity evident for Western teams.
Certainly, UK content creator and Los Ratones owner, Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, was happy with the draw as the reveal saw him dancing around his room.
The result is that at least one Western team will make it to Worlds playoffs, with the draw representing the likely best possible opportunity for LEC Summer champions, G2, to advance.
However, the draw is also a double-edged sword. While G2 will be glad to avoid stronger opposition, another loss to FlyQuest would be a humiliating one.
G2 were demolished 3-0 by FlyQuest at MSI in a loss that marked a low point for the LEC.
G2 are currently riding the high of taking down the LPL Split 3 Champions, BLG, albeit in a Bo1.
Another loss to their Western rivals would strip G2 of the good feeling surrounding victory over BLG.
In any case, both teams will want to avoid falling into the do-or-die 2-2 bracket, which is guaranteed to have tough opposition.
As rematches are not possible, BLG may have the potential to play FlyQuest, and T1 may face G2, but G2 cannot face BLG, nor can FlyQuest face T1.

MKOI handed opportunity to make it to 2-2
For Movistar KOI, the draw could have been better, but also could have been far worse.
They avoided T1 and BLG, but also avoided the presumed weak LTA opposition in VKS or 100T.
They face a TSW whose sole win came in the opening Bo1 against VKS.
The Vietnamese team came into Worlds as the second LCP seed, but the falloff after CFO in terms of skill level is substantial.
Still, with the LEC currently sitting at only one singular win against a team from outside of its own region, MKOI can take nothing for granted.
MKOI can count themselves lucky that they drew an abject Fnatic after going 0-2.
A recovery to 2-2 would at least give the LEC fans hope that they can have good representation in the playoffs, but MKOI must first get there.

Dhokla gets what he asked for
100T have already shown that they intend to go out with a bang at Worlds after they obliterated BLG in their Worlds opener.
However, losses to Top Esports and HLE restored normality, leaving 100T on the brink of elimination.
That, however, has not baulked 100T’s mentality of the team, who are soon to be without an organisation after 100T’s decision to leave the LTA/LCS.
100T’s Niship ‘Dhokla’ Doshi asked the drawing Gods to face T1 in their 1-2 match, and he got what he asked for as 100T drew T1 for Round 4 of Worlds.
T1 traditionally simply do not lose in Groups, yet T1 sit on the brink of elimination in Shanghai after Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok and co fell to Gen.G in the 1-1 bracket.
Yet few believe 100T can give the Korean back-to-back champions a proper scare in a Bo3.
At the very least, 100T will seek to make a memorable exit to the world of Tier 1 League, if this is indeed their curtain call.
ITS TIME FOR THE DRAW! WE WANT T1

Fnatic poised for big changes after Worlds calamity
It’s fair to say that for Fnatic, the Worlds 2025 Week 2 draw wasn’t ideal as they’re not in it.
The LEC third seed had a tournament to forget, and in truth, there was little to remember anyway.
Their swift exit from the competition featured four dreary, uncompetitive game losses interrupted by one bright spot that served to underline that the LEC is its own meta.
For the rest of the League of Legends world, the only notable aspect of Fnatic’s game two win against MKOI was that it secured the first win for a comp with Jarvan IV in it, after 9 consecutive losses at Worlds.
That one shining moment for Fnatic was quickly forgotten as MKOI took the third game in much the way they took the first – clinically, easily, and without the late-game wobbles that so often blight MKOI.
Rumours surrounding changes at Fnatic started even before their final series had concluded, but confirmation came soon after with Fnatic head coach Fabian ‘GrabbZ’ Lohmann stating, “Changes will have to come, in the end after many many talks this just seemed to be our level.”
GrabbZ admitted on broadcast that he may be a victim of those changes. The head coach will be under severe pressure, as Fnatic’s drafts and overall approach were the source of fierce criticism throughout the event.
Scheduled loss for FNC, MKOI just way better as a team. FNC still look like they have no idea how each other want to play the game.

Sam Matthews later posted, “Mega disappointed. Only thing to say is: 1. Fans deserve better. Fight, soul, belief. 2. Big changes are needed.”
Those changes are unknown for now. Only Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp’s contract expires in 2025, with the other four moments expiring next year.
Fnatic’s 2025 season was somewhat saved by making Worlds over Karmine Corp, but their Worlds run showed they are a great distance away from international competitiveness.
As such, changes may be wholesale as Fnatic seek to return to the top of EU esports.
Mega disappointed.

Gg KOI.
I hope want thank all the fans that have believed in us despite our lack of form all through our playoff runs this year. Not good enough.
