Aurora Gaming and Team Falcons sit at the top of the pack heading into the Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs after a thrilling Group Stage.
Fissure Playground 1 2025 winners did not make it out of the Swiss format, and the FaZe Clan vs Team Liquid match results threaten the timing of a hotly anticipated player transfer.
All eight Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs teams are determined
Following the Group Stage, which ran from September 12th to 17th, the following eight teams have qualified for the Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs with the noted win-loss rates:
- Aurora Gaming (3-0)
- Team Falcons (3-0)
- FURIA (3-1)
- G2 Esports (3-1)
- The MongolZ (3-1)
- Astralis (3-2)
- paiN Gaming (3-2)
- Team Liquid (3-2)
Notably, Fissure Playground 1 winners TYLOO crashed out in the Group Stage. Despite a 2-0 win against Gamer Legion, they were unable to gain any momentum in the competition. They ended with three match losses to their one win.

Fissure Quarterfinal matches revealed
The Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs begin on September 19th with the Quarterfinal Matches.
Aurora Gaming will face Team Liquid in their first Playoffs game off the back of a very successful Group Stage. The two teams have not competed against each other since IEM Dallas in May, and they are currently even at two wins, two losses against one another in 2025.

The MongolZ and G2 Esports will clash in their first Quarterfinal games, with G2 hoping to demonstrate the winning style they have developed since their win at the BLAST London, where they took down titans Team Vitality in a spectacular final.
At long last, Astralis have another shot at success in a Playoffs bracket. Following their high-profile re-signing of Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif, they may finally be hitting their stride once again. However, they will need to prove themselves against FURIA first.
Finally, paiN Gaming will need to overcome Team Falcons in their Quarterfinal game to progress in the Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs. Despite having struggled to find a cohesive roster throughout 2025, Team Falcons appear to have finally settled into a rhythm.

Their dominant 3-0 Group Stage looks promising for their new roster, especially their young star Maksim ‘kyousuke’ Lukin. Given this surge in success, the team will be one of the favourites to win Fissure Playground 2 with their new roster on Counter-Strike betting sites.
What implications does Team Liquid’s Playoffs qualification have on the Twistzz-FaZe transfer?
To qualify for the Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs, Team Liquid firmly defeated the currently struggling FaZe Clan roster. However, this success is awkward to navigate for rifler Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken.
Per @MischiefCS2: If TL win tomorrow they would be best off skipping FRAG and Birch to ensure they don't lose points. This would be bad for FaZe & Twistzz as he would be stuck on Liquid's roster.

The only caveat to this is if Liquid plan to replace Twistzz with an NA player.… https://t.co/C2JpLAgnqf
Despite currently still playing for Team Liquid, a transfer has been agreed for the player to move to the FaZe Clan roster, presumably after Fissure Playground 2 concludes.
However, Team Liquid’s Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs qualification has the potential to complicate this process due to the upcoming Starladder Budapest Major. The VRS system (Valve Regional Standings) will determine which teams qualify, and Team Liquid are finally advancing.
Therefore, they will need to balance which tournaments to play post-Fissure and whether they can release Twistzz from the roster to play with FaZe at the Major instead.
FaZe Clan likely heavily prefer to use Twistzz in the Starladder Major, since he decimated his future roster in their last Fissure Playground match. Nevertheless, this may not be in their control.

When are the Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs?
The Fissure Playground 2 Playoffs begin on September 19th with the Quarterfinals. On Friday, September 20th, the Semifinals will determine which two teams compete in the Grand Final.
September 21st will see the two Grand Final teams compete for the lion’s share of the tournament’s $500,000 USD (~£366,000 GBP) prize pool.
For some, the prize pool is merely a bonus – it is VRS points that will be the goal for those looking to lock in their Major qualification.
