In an unexpected anti-retirement comeback, fans witnessed a Caedrel NLC Support role victory as the former pro competed in a regional League of Legends Summer Seeding game for his team, Los Ratones.
Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson transitioned to ADC, accommodating for the temporary shift.
Caedrel’s NLC Support career – short-lived, but successful
Before retiring, Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont played in the Mid-lane position, or as a Jungler. However, his time in the NLC was as a support player. To accommodate, Rekkless transitioned back to his iconic ADC role.
The 27-minute game ended with Caedrel achieving a 1-1-17 Kills/Deaths/Assists (K/D/A). He supported his ADC well, with Rekkless holding a 6-0-13 on Senna.
Los Ratones dominated overall. The team destroyed DMG Esports’ Nexus at 23 kills to 7, with a 17.7k gold difference, four Drakes, a Baron Buff, and 10 turrets to 2.
So far, there is no official reason for Caedrel hopping into the NLC game.
As one Reddit user pointed out, “I think the official reason is because Caedrel is the coach and owner and can do whatever the f*** he wants,” to which another user added, “and he wants to play with Rekkles as ADC because who the f*** wouldn’t?”
Los Ratones were quick to celebrate their owner’s success, humerously sharing Caedrel’s progress towards Faker’s status as a member of the 5k kill club.
Perhaps, with a few more NLC games under his belt, Caedrel will snag the achievement.
Is trading in your owner a new NLC trend? Caedrel’s main roster move echoes Ruddy Esports owner sub
Caedrel’s successful game is perhaps a little contrasted by Ruddy Esports’ owner DonJake’s recent NLC debut.
Due to a player’s absence, DonJake filled in on his team, Ruddy Esports, as a Jungler in the team’s game against NORD Esports. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, the team were unable to pull off a win.
Nevertheless, the owner’s involvement and POV stream provided an entertaining source of content. Ruddy Esports is known for its unconventional yet extremely engaging approach to League of Legends competition.
They might have lost the game against NORD, but DonJake’s debut was nothing short of good fun.
The Caedrel NLC Support debut echoes the entertainment goals Ruddy Esports seemingly strives for.
The NLC audience reached new heights in 2025, becoming Europe’s most popular League of Legends regional circuit. Much of this is credited to Los Ratones and their star-studded roster. An audience of over 360,000 watched Los Ratones’ first title win in the NLC Winter Circuit.
In terms of performance, Los Ratones and their League of Legends veterans will undoubtedly bring in higher odds on League of Legends betting sites. However, the value other NLC teams bring to the scene is undeniable.
More teams should take inspiration from the chaotic nature of Ruddy Esports and Los Ratones.
Substitute in your owners, make good content, and keep the NLC on an upward trajectory.
