UK studio announces the first-ever Predecessor Championship Circuit

Predecessor Championship Circuit

London-based game developer Omeda Studios has announced the first-ever Predecessor Championship Circuit (PCC).

The tournament will take place between June 14th and July 13th, giving players from across Europe and North America the chance to compete against each other.

It follows the success of last month’s Summer Showdown Creator Tournament which saw 20 of Predecessor’s biggest creators battle it out on Twitch to thousands of viewers.

“Building on the incredible energy from last month’s creator tournament, we’re thrilled to announce a monumental leap forward for Predecessor esports with the launch of our official Predecessor Championship Circuit in both Europe and North America,” said Omeda Studios CEO Robbie Singh.

“This is a massive step, showcasing our commitment to fostering competitive play and directly supporting our incredible community. By releasing the Victorious skin line in 1.6, with all proceeds going towards the prize pool, we’re empowering players and cementing the future of Predecessor as a premier esport.”

The newly announced PCC marks a significant step for the game’s esports scene. The circuit kicks off with sign-ups which open on May 31st, via the official Predecessor website.

Further details on the tournament’s format are due to be revealed while the action will be shown on Twitch.

What is Predecessor?

Predecessor is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game developed by London-based Omeda Studios.

Omeda was inspired by Epic Games’ title Paragon which was discontinued in 2018.

The game is available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Microsoft Windows via Steam and Epic Games. It has a player base which has grown to around 2.5 million.

Teams of five join arms in battle as they fight for glory on a third-person battlefield against enemy heroes on a traditional three-lane map, featuring an interactive jungle, monsters and more.

During a match, 10 players are divided into two teams with each player controlling their chosen hero. Each hero has their own unique abilities and design, meaning there’s a hero to match everyone’s style of play. Furthermore, heroes complete objectives to collect gold like killing minions, downing towers or annihilating enemy heroes.

Last year, Predecessor also launched its new game mode Brawl, where players would fight on a single-lane map to takedown enemy players and escort allied minions into the enemy portal.
