Esports is coming to Morecambe’s Winter Gardens, with the location hosting a competitive gaming and cosplay event in summer for the first time.
The Gardens have never hosted an event like this in the past and the first of its kind day should further grow the esports scene in the UK to an even wider audience.
When is the Winter Gardens esports event?
The event at Morecambe’s Winter Gardens will take place on May 24th from midday, with the afternoon of gaming expected to conclude at around 4pm.
It has been confirmed that there will be either a Rocket League or Overwatch LAN tournament at the afternoon depending on what the most participants sign up to.
There will be an open invite to players for the event, with local schools and teams also invited down to play in the LAN tournament.
For those who aren’t taking part in the LAN tournament there are still plenty of options on the afternoon. See below for what else the event will be hosting.
Event highlights include:
- LAN tournament – Overwatch/Rocket League (dependent upon interest/sign ups)
- Cosplay competition
- SIM Rig racing
- Arcade/Retro Gaming
- Esports Information Station
- Minecraft build competition
- Design an esports jersey
Everything other than the LAN tournament will be open for everyone to participate in and there will even be prizes for the Cosplay and Minecraft build competition.
There will be special guests on the floor for the event however they won’t be revealed until on the day via the live stream.
The event will be streamed from start to finish on Twitch via the official Esports_LMC channel.
