PUBG: Battlegrounds latest update features destructible terrain on Taego map

Taego

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has launched its official update 35.2 on PC, with the update set to be released on consoles from May 22nd.

The update has many new features that will excite players including bringing destructible terrain to the Taego map for the first time.

The news comes a couple of months after PUBG announced a new 5v5 team title, Blindspot, in February.

PUBG Update 35.2: What’s new?

New destructable terrain

For the first time in PUBG, players will be able to alter terrain in the Taego map during battle. Explosives including C4, mortars, grenades and Panzerfaust launcher will all be able to change the environment.

Players can now alter the map to their choosing for a benefit in battle, including for cover and other tactical advantages.

There is also the addition of a new tool in game to help players alter the landscape, with a pickaxe added in the update for those who would rather use more of a secretive and quiet approach in combat.

Balance changes and usability updates

C4 has now become a deployable item, with the explosive requiring four seconds to set up rather than the immediate throw and stick mechanism that used to feature in the game.

Vehicles are getting updated too, with the inflatable boat made quicker when fully loaded with players. The boat item now also takes up less space in the inventory.

Flare Guns have been upgraded, with clearer tooltips, radio messages and UI indicators making the item much more useful in combat.

Gameplay updates

Game publishers KRAFTON aim to make PUBG a fair experience for all players regardless of their knowledge in the game, with the following updates made to level the playing field as much as possible.

Vehicle camouflage netting adds the ability of stealth to an otherwise vulnerable form of transport with the camo allowing players to blend into the terrain when possible.

Vending machines that were only only available in the Miramar map have now been put into both Erangel and Taego. The machines dispense healing and boost items.

PUBG esports

The new updates will have all launched on both console and PC by the time the next major PUBG esports tournament takes place.
