The Student Racing League finals were held on Wednesday afternoon, with Loughborough student Joseph crowned champion following a tough season of competition.
Loughborough College Student takes home Racing League title
This year’s edition of the Student Racing League was the third instalment of the competition after Williams esports introduced the tournament to our screens in 2023.
Students in the Racing League competed throughout the season for a spot in one of the three qualifying tiers before the top 30 education centres met at the in-person LAN Finals.
The finals were held on Wednesday afternoon at Williams Racing HQ in Grove, Oxfordshire.
Loughborough College racing superstar, Joseph, won the final race in Las Vegas which also confirmed his spot atop the Drivers Championship as the season drew to a close.
Speaking after his title, Joseph said: “I dreamt of this when I was younger, I’ve been doing it since 2017. It’s my dream to drive a real car and i’ve just been doing it every week [to practice] and finally it’s paid off. Best day of my life for sure!”

The win for Joseph earned him an all expenses paid trip to take part in the Prodigy Week, where he will test real world race cars and put his sim racing skills to the test on an even bigger stage.
Who else finished on the podium?
Joseph won the final race by a significant margin, with an +8.596 second time difference to second place’s Alex King.
King also spoke after his podium finish, saying: “It [the race] was quite tricky, i had an internet issue about lap 18 or 19 which lost me about eight and a half seconds. A three second penalty too so to come away with P2…. i’m very very happy.”

Third place in the event was George from Wilmington academy, and the podium finish was enough to secure them the Constructors Championship.
The academy team promised to ‘come back stronger than ever’ after a near miss in the all important Student Racing League LAN Finals.
