Alienware transitioning into college esports with first Apex Legends event

Popular PC hardware brand, Alienware, is taking steps into the college esports world as it is set to host its first tournament in 2025. 

Alienware’s first Apex Legends tournament 

Alienware will be hosting the ‘Alienware Collegiate Clash 2025’ (AWCC25) in a collaboration event alongside Oversight Esports.

The final of the new college esports tournament will take place on April 12th at Purdue University, Indiana.

There is new Alienware gaming setups up for grabs for the winners of the clash as well as a custom trophy and medals that will be awarded to the first time champions.

While there are no tickets for the live event, fans can tune in to the final via Oversight Esports’ Twitch channel and Alienware’s Arena website.

What Alienware said about the new college esports tournament

On its official statement about the tournament’s format and release, Alienware said:  “AWCC25 is more than a tournament—it’s the next step in Alienware’s vision for collegiate esports.

“By establishing Alienware Gaming Lounges, the company is creating spaces for students to connect, compete and grow both academically and socially.

“Beyond the competition, Alienware is dedicated to helping students advance across all facets of the gaming industry, from design and development to tech infrastructure and esports management. The goal is clear: drive innovation and foster growth in a rapidly evolving industry.”

The PC hardware brand doesn’t seem to be slowing down in the college sphere either, with plans to expand the next AWC to more schools across the country with an even bigger final in the first renewal of the tournament in 2026.
